    Hey J

I moved your thread into the Mac forum (yes we have one lol) if you check the other thread here it talks about loading on a virtual windows in order to run DM. That is about as much as I can tell you since I have never used a Mac, but I am sure our other Mac users will jump right in and help

At this time I don't believe that Desktop Manager will integrate with Mac OS's. I'm sure others will chime in. The only what to configure would be to parallel the Mac OS with a XP OS overtop the Mac. Our graphics departments runs those two OS's on a single Mac PC.

I am a Mac user. You must have Windows to run the DM, it will not run on the Mac. I have tried PocketMac and Missing Sync, but I have abandoned both for Google sync for my calendar and address book.

I have VM Fusion and then run Windows for backing up apps and OS modifications.

I really depends upon your needs. If you are looking to just sync address and calendar then Google sync will work for you, provided you Mac OS is 10.5 or higher.

Yes it's sad RIM doesn't think more of us Mac users. The currently available software for Mac leaves more to be desired. Even from a developer standpoint, we are high and dry. Well at least we need a windows machine. Maybe someday.

So true at least Apple makes a sync app for Windows user. RIM gets the flag :bsflag:

Man I wish RIM would develop a DM for us Mac users. My BB is the only reason why I have Windows installed on my Mac. Aside for BB stuff, I never use Windows.

Desktop Manager for the Mac has been in the works since November of 2007. The beta was finished a year after that but has continued to be in beta due to lots of software issues.

They have taken a lot of what they have gotten right and made other stand alone apps from it such as the iTunes Sync.

There were a lot of nice features that were going to be added to it but its costing too much in beta. Last I heard they were over budget and under educated.

Just not enough interest in it.

This is one of the major I'm hesitant to get a mac. I feel like I will be dual booting all the time.
