does this new hybrid have the new alert icons found in the .273 build? what changes over hybrid v5.0 is there?

Hey Irtehun...
I just downloaded and installed your newest hybrid (cause of bbosalert). Thanks to smcoldbb, I was successful.

I have to say that this is THE best OS I have EVER seen. All the features of all the 5.0's, PLUS, I can FINALLY read my screen!!!!! Everything is just that much larger to be legible.

For some reason, after installing the hybridv6.0, the computer is not recognizing the device, so I cannot do a restore.

Anyone know whats going on here? Im gonna go back to the v5.0 hybrid, as that worked flawlessly

d5coupe, are you running into the usual message saying the Tour will not charge or the other issue where Desktop Manager will not recognize the device. If its the power issue, then try plugging directly into a USB port instead of a USB hub, if its the DM won't recognize it issue then I would suggest downgrading your DM to 4.7. I ran into DM not recognizing my Tour with any DM above 4.7. Verizon support was not sure why. I hope that heps.

another thing you can try is going options>applications>highlight core apps>bbkey>edit permissions>set all to allow>save and try again

ok thanks...im trying all these suggestions now. I noticed that irtehun posted a new hybrid on bbhybrids.net version 7.6

Nothing worked, so i restarted and it recognized the blackberry right away. I am installing the new hybrid 7.6 now and not shrinking (believe that is what cause the problem)

Not sure why shrinking would cause you issues. I shrunk and installing now. We'll post how it goes

I don't know how he finds the time, but I am glad he does. Without his hybrids I would have just a another BlackBerry but with Hybrid 8.0 4.7.1.57 build I will have a happier BlackBerry.

I don't see any benefits to a 4.7 hybrid. The stock .40 OS runs flawlessly. If you want the threaded SMS and newer theme design, the 5.0 is great!

I have had so many problems loading this hybrid today....Ive done it 50+ times but today has been a struggle for some reason, I just had to wipe before it would let me load the new hybrid...so its loading up now, just gotta do a restore and hopefully see some new stuff!!!

Me either but I was having issues and was trying to find the culprit...im sucessfully running hybrid 7.6 shrunk to 44MB

I have found the hybrid 4.7 builds to work very well on my Tour, I am running the stock 5.0.0.230 but a few apps don't run correctly and I am now getting application errors.

I will upgrade to 5.0.0.x on my Tour when they officially release OS 5.0 and the apps I need to work are finalized.

Hi Irtehun, I dl'd your .287 and installed but when I go to options it still says .238-shouldn't it say .287? I made sure vendor-and all necessary files were deleted-reinstalled.230 then installed 5.0v6 and it still comes up .238.

Redownloaded-deleted necessary files-reloaded to phone and it still only says .238 instead of .287 anyone have any helpful suggestions???

I don't know about you but I downloaded and installed the same version hybrid and it says 5.0.0.296 (463) for me.

Options > About will show 238

Alt+ Right Shift + H will show the higher number.


BTW, I believe Irtehun has released 7.9 to the public tonight. I've been running it for a few days with great results.

does this load the same way as i have done in the past with bbc's hybrids

whats the chances of being able to load .344 or .348 into a hybrid? and irtehun are you going to work on a Bold 9700 hybrid?? I would but I dont have nearly enough patience for that.

Yep, and Pandora finally works again!!!! I couldn't be happier
