Thread: Tour 5.0.0.191 Hybrid = No more media icon?

Sorry if this has already been answered, but I searched and couldn't find anything on it. I just got my replacement green-dot tour, so I decided to install irtehun's 5.0.0.191 hybrid on it. I installed BB Desktop manager 5.1, installed the 5.0.0.191 official version (no rim tools), and then installed the hybrid 5.0.0.191 on my computer. Then I ran shrink a OS, and loaded the OS onto the blackberry, backing up no data. Unfortunately, now there is no Media icon on my blackberry. I saw someone mentioning you can "add it back" by adding a new folder called Media with the media icon (which for some reason is now accessable as a folder icon!), however all this does is create an empty folder, and doesn't restore the previous gallery functions. The music app is there, but it's of no real use to me, as I have an iPod. I really need access to my photos, ringtones, and movies, but I don't want to give up threaded SMS! I have even tried getting to the gallery through the camera app, and I am unable to-it just defaults back to the camera. If anyone has any insight into this on how to bring it back, I'd be eternally grateful. Thank you

Hi and welcome to BBOS!!! With these newer 5.0 OS, I have noticed that media/pictures/videos are all located in applications. Check the folders and if you desire to have them all in one place, create a media folder and move them.

I do, actually. A rather silly one, but I've got 2 backup files. both have some updated contacts in them that are not in the other.... Is there any way to merge them and have bb desktop manager behave like iSync and let me resolve conflicts between them?

have you tried google sync?

you would need to load one contact list sync it with google. load the other one and sync it and then delete your contacts off your device and resync with googlesync and it should put everything together.

There might be a better answer but I'd prolly try that if I was you.

One more question-I'm getting a lot of SMS error 3 message ID 26's when i try to send texts. I never got these when i had 4.7, when i put irtehuns 4.7 hybrid on there i started to get them randomly, and ill have to hit resend like 5 times until it sends. it is completely sporadic

I've never heard of that error before. Have you resent your service books?

No, but seeing as it's sms that's failing and not MMS/email, i'm unsure why service books would play a part.
