OK jnespa, almost ready to go here.

Hopefully last questions before I follow the procedure I have put together from this and other threads.

You recommended the 4.5 Hybrid with 4.6/5.0 files. I installed 4.5.0.160 to my computer. Then I installed the hybrid to it. Deleted the vendor file, replaced the radio file under cdma with one from .131.

I switched to .160 from .138 because It looked like the 4.5 hybrid was more for the .160 than the .138. Since the chief complaint with .160 on verizon was crackling when you make/receive a call, I followed forum advice and "fixed" it with the .131 radio. I hope that that is all the fix needed.

When I unzipped the 4.5 hybrid, besides the java folder, there was one for BBM which I take is Blackberry Messenger. Inside it there are folders for both 4.5 and 5.0.

I am unclear about what to do, if anything, with them. When I install the hybridized .160, will it ask which one I want to install? Or, am I supposed to pick the one I want 5.0 and copy it's contents into the java folder, replacing/overwriting any that ask?

I have read a thread that upgrades you to bbm 5, there is an .alx file you put someplace and a bunch of .cod files I believe you put into the java folder, overwriting as necessary.

The 5.0 folder in 4.5 hybrid only has .cod files in it, do not see the .alx, maybe it is already in the .160 files. So what do I need to do to get bbm 5.0 installed when I load the hybridized .160 os?

Finally, do I want to choose load 5.0 files when I am in Shrink-A-OS? Are they necessary for the bbm 5.0 or are they used for something else?

    Thanks, Chris.

The 5.0 folder in 4.5 hybrid only has .cod files in it, do not see the .alx, maybe it is already in the .160 files. So what do I need to do to get bbm 5.0 installed when I load the hybridized .160 os?

ok do not load the 5.0 files... shirnk an os isnt exactly necessary because you can leave of the things you dont want to install. The 5.0 bbm I think you could just paste the 5.0 bbm .cod in but that I am unsure have.. i only know how to do with tbhe .alx or ota methods.. I would leave them out we can always get 5.0 on there with out having ot do a reload after. sounds like you are all good to go though...as long as you know how to find the loader.exe you should have it.
