Hey, I really like your hybrid OS and i think it runs better then any other OS i've used. It saves battery life and i get really good reception. The only problem I've run into is with the camcorder issue. When I hit the trackball to record, it just brings up the options menu.

This was a known issue of 0.9a; are you sure that you've installed 1.0 as this issue has been fixed in this latest hybrid version.

It already been fixed...

Just installed. So ill give it the full test over the next day or two and post up. Just a few things i noticed is 1. Visual Voicemail is back, which was removed from the last build. No big deal i can shink it out later. but wasjust not expecting it back
Also i STILL dont have network selection 2G/3G. O am on ATT
i used.282 as my base for the install, which when i do a non hybrid install of .282 i get the selection

The 2G/3G selection is an issue for AT&T/Cingular because using other carrier the selection is still there...

thanks xonz, for the hybrid. I gave it a try and had it loaded for about 2 days. Its really fast and smooth, but I had to unload it cause the 2g/3g feature. Other than that I enjoyed it.

amazing - just when I thought it was safe to go back in the water along comes 9000 Hybrid OS's :Eyecrazy: an the BBos forum - nice! :bandit:

phone rebooting as i type - 1 sec....

Base = 266

Initial response after battery pull-

- memory @ 50. Usually rests at 37
- all 3rd party apps working
- Browser - nice and quick
- No problems with custom theme (JS designs ego v1.2)
- Jpegs are still slow to load but faster than voda 282
- Video camera works
- overall slick - recomended

Its weird that a hybrid based on the .282 which allows me to switch between 2g and 3g would not work on att while the vanilla .282 would.
Why would this be?
Dont get me wrong i really love the hybrid thus far...the selection is just nice for certain situations

It's not strange at all if one actually thinks about it.

We (AT&T customers) know that 2G selection worked with 282 but not 266, 291 or the betas of 5.0.

This hybrid is a mix of all of those releases.

The 2G selection functionality is contained in a 282 cod file that had to be replaced by another version to either add other functionality or make the hybrid stable. You have to lose one to gain the other.

Note that others (non-AT&T customers) have retained their 2G selection ability in this hybrid because their phones always have had this option available. IIRC, the only way to have that functionality present on AT&T is to actually go through the full blown unlocking procedure or to stick with plain, vanilla 282.

I think I got that right...

I guess i was being lazy and didnt connect the dots. I just figured that the base radio file was the only thing that was deciding if you could switch to 2g or 3g. But i should have knows it was a tad bit more complex

why does everybody love .266 so much, is it more stable than .282 & .291?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it is assumed that .266's radio code is generally more stable for 3g reception than the others. Which is true at least in my experience!

People have determined that the radio file in .266 hold onto a tower abit better then most making ur connection more reliable
