Thread: 8900 4.6.1.250/4.6.1.272/5.0 Hybrid

Well, I had quite a few people ask me to make a hybrid for the 8900 and so here it is!

This hybrid consists of:
4.6.1.250 Base
4.6.1.272 Gemini files
5.0 files (No there is no tabbed browsing or threaded SMS, sorry)
BBM 5.0 is included for you
(the old BBM is included in a seperate folder if you want to use that, copy and paste all of the files in the BBM\4.6.1 folder to the Java folder and overwrite)

This is a Java Only, so use it with your favorite radio file!

Install at your own risk, and make sure to back up all your data before installing!

Instructions are pretty simple:
Download this file: 8900 Curve Hybrid V1
Sound Profiles Fix <- Being uploaded into the initial hybrid file
Open it using WinRar or 7-Zip
Highlight the Java folder
Open up the OS folder with the Java in it that you are overwriting
Go back to WinRar or 7-Ziip and Click, Drag, and Drop the Java folder on top of the other
When asked, overwrite all files
Shrink the OS if you'd like with Shrink-A-OS provided
Update your phone using Loader or Desktop Manager (<- Disconnect from the internet if using DM)

Install at your own risk, and make sure to back up all your data before installing!

No actually i copied the files in the .231 folder would that be why it doesn't work?

Welcome to BlackberryOS.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\[YOUR OS FOLDER]\Java

If you are on a 64bit system, it will be Program Files (x86). If you are on a 32bit system, you will only see Program Files.

I'm currently running on Vodafone 4.6.1.168 (Platform 4.2.0.94) and tried installing this hybrid over it by replacing the Java folder and running loader.exe manually. However I keep getting app error 200 when the device tries to initialise. I tried removing all 3rd party apps but still got the same problem.

So now I reverted back to the official OS until someone inspires me to try something different

You should use JL CMDR or BBSAK to wipe your device then reload the hybrid.
