I have not but this will not work more than likely. I have tried doing that with other hybrids and it failed.

You can delete the help files with Shrink-a-OS. As far as visual Voicemail, do into options, advanced options, applications and delete it from there.

They say that pulling out your battery and letting it sit out fully allows your phones processes to stop. Doing it three times seems to speed up the stabilization of the new OS setting in

Olta777, thanks for the step by step guide. This is my first hybrid so i've got a few questions. steps 1-4 should be done while your bb is not connected to your desktop correct? From step 5 on all additional steps should be completed with the bb connected to the desktop correct?

Thanks for hte clarification for a newbie!

In addition to Bryan's comment which is totally correct, pulling the battery is a good general practice after loading/unloading any software, theme, OS, etc. The BB really likes the battery pull

No. 3G/2G selection has not worked for me on this hybrid. Only on the regular .282 OS.

Thanks Brian. Couple more question. So i'm currently running OS.282. Following the steps outlined above once i get to step 5 and plug my bb into my desktop I assume it will try to load OS.291 before it will allow me to back up my 3rd party apps correct? Also, would you suggest i back up my 3rd party apps with BBSAK or DM? Or doesn't it matter.

I have been using BBSAK with no issues (but to be honest I do it both ways just in case).

And no it will not auto load the os. You have to manually tell app loader to do that.

It may just be me (as a long-time sysadmin), but wouldn't it be easier and better to just change "required" in the alx file from true to false?

It's been my experience that people who "hide" behind GUIs never truly understand what they're doing and how it affects things. They just do it by rote...

Meanwhile, I eagerly await xonz' next release - I figured I'd hold out until he got the browser issue fixed...
