BBCrackmans Bold Hybrid v1

Bchat can be bought at the app store for 99 cents.....and it will give you threaded messaging I've ran it before and the application does a nice job!

Well, I guess bad news is better than no news :irked:

But thank you for filling me in with the info. Hopefully there will be a beta 5.0 OS build soon enough that will cooperate with applications (i.e. facebook) and also support threaded SMS.

Do you know of any beta 5.0 OS's that support threaded SMS yet?

5.0.0.190 includes threaded SMS, still have the compatibility problems with applications.

Ok...probably a stupid question, but when i follow the instructions in the OP I don't get a "box" asking to replace any files and just loads them into ..../Research in Motion/Shared/Loader Files.

It loads the "hybrid" files into a folder (Bold V1.0) in the Shared folder next to the OS .282 folder. It doesn't load them INTO the .282 folder. Do i need to move the Bold v1.0 into the .282 folder, or do i transfer the files from the Bold folder into the .282 folder?

When i use the loader.exe it just loads the original .282 files. Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

First off welcome to BlackberryOS :)

Second BBC has relased a new hybrid as of yesterday

So if you are in the mood to try the latest and greatest you might give that one a go.

For both you will need to download the Base OS on to PC for V1 you will need .282 and then you will want to extract the hybrid content into that folder. When the hybrid installer asks you to create a directory select no then navigate to the .282 folder.

For v3 you will need the base OS .301 and then follow the same steps :)

You need to point it to your .282 folder

Instead of clicking next here, up at the top, click the "..." button and select the 282 OS folder. Then hit OK and proceed.

Is it possible to add the files from the curve or another Blackberry so that your hybrid will allow us to have UMA on the bold? In other words, we can do voice calls over wifi like you can on the Curve.
