Honestly, i'm not sure what the problem is. i have done everything suggested in this & other forums...i've done the phone wipes, i've deleted every OS installed on my computer (through the Control Panel), i've deleted vendor files & made sure they weren't still in recycle bin, downloaded/installed the .282 OS, then the v1.0 hybrid (into the OS folder), done all the battery pulls suggested...EVERYTHING.

When i try to install OS .282 on my BB, using the App Loader, it just shows applications & the OS isn't even detected. I've really done everything.

While in the app loader, on the Device App Selection screen, i've tried to add .alx files from the OS .282 folder, i get the message that the app is not compatible w/my device & can't be loaded.

So...i'm not sure what's going on.

Hmm okay. Mind if I ask a few more questions?

Do you have an OS currently installed on your BlackBerry?
If you do, are you able to use DM to create a backup?
Where did you download .282 from?
Have you tried just loaded .282 without the hybrid?

Yes, currently, i have .167...it might be crazy, but there was a downgraded version available (per DM) & im downgrading right now...maybe starting real fresh will help.
I have created a backup earlier today using DM. I then downloaded .282 from Rogers through the link provided at the beginning of this forum.
As for the hybrid, i haven't tried the OS with out it, but i will try it now. Thanks for the help!!!

Doing a backup to me would mean that there is communication successfully being done with Desktop Manager, and rules out the device and DM.

A lot of it is just trial and error. Finding variables to eliminate or test. Let me know how the downgrade works...

Just did the "downgrade" & the weird thing is, i'm still getting my AOL emails. When i have ever updated the OS or have done a phone wipe, ive had to resend service books to get emails...

Anyways, i'll download/re-install OS .282 w/out the hybrid & see if that works. Quick Question...does it matter that i'm upgrading to .282 all the way from .167? Also, should i download .282 from somewhere else besides the Rogers link?

It shouldn't matter going from .167 to .282. If I had a Bold I know I'd try installing it myself. The Rogers link should also be fine.

I'm not sure if it was because i downloade OS .282 w/out the hybrid (i'll do that tomorrow) or because i totally downgraded my OS to the lowest OS possible, but now i have OS .282. Thanks to everyone...this is best BB sites i've ever been on!!:arms:

Hi all. I am new to this site and this is my first attempt at using one of these hybrids for my Bold (did use them on my Storm but got rid of that phone for the better Bold - all my opinion).
Trying to use this hybrid as currently using .282 anyway and like the idea of the 5 additions. Unfortunately when I download the zip file and try to extract it I get an error message. This being:
! C:\Users\Lee\Documents\Downloads\Bold v1.0.zip: The archive is either in unknown format or damaged

Does anyone have any ideas so I can join in with the hybrid possie??

Sorry to hear about that, I am downloading the hybrid now and will test it to see if I get that same issue. If I do I will get it re uploaded to our server for you and post when I have a new link.

Ok I just downloaded it and extracted it to my desktop and installed it to a test folder and it worked like a charm. I would suggest a re download to see if maybe you picked up a hiccup during download.

Ah I still get the WinRar Diagnostic message telling me the process can not be executed. This is annoying. Must be something to do with my pc but I can not work out what. I have tried repairing it as a Rar and as a Zip just to be safe but nothing works.

I must be destined to not join the hybrid possie :aargh4:

I can upload it as a windows zip? do you want me to do that?

I just tried 7-zip too and that won't let me open the Bold zip either. I must do something wrong....

When you double click the winrar folder to open it are you dragging the exe to your desktop? If not try that
