How about C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader ?
Nope I have C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry, C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Media Sync and all the stuff inside of them, neither contain vendor or loader.
I'm not sure you are looking in the right folder. Look in Program Files/Common Files/Research In Motion...
Thank you so much I didn't see that. Well I removed the vendor from that folder, then I installed the Hybrid, so when I get my phone tomorrow, I Just plug it in, click the Loader, install, and thats it?
pertty much yes.. your all set to go..![]()
Alright, well now I'll just hope I don't somehow manage to brick it, would it help to do a backup in Blackberry Desktop Manager before I do this?
Always do a backup before you start anything like this![]()
Will I have to do battery pulls after installation?
I never did but it can help sometimes.
Day 1 of using Hybrid v1 over .282 East Asian CSL Limited version.
All the problems of yesterday seems to have ironed out by themselves. No more problems found so far. BBM 5.0 working nicely, sending and receving has been very smooth, no missing D/R indicator issue. Browser also working nicely and now it no longer switches to WAP Browser randomly, it is sticking to the Internet Browser connection.

The hybrid works great.
Question:
Only net_rim_bb_browser is 5.0.0.100
Why not The Browser consist of these classes:
net_rim_bb_browser_mango.cod
net_rim_bb_browser_mango_wrapper.cod
net_rim_bb_browser_ninjainterface.cod
ALSO, any reason why access to certificates was removed?
most people load the phone with their contacts during setup... I know I did
Hybrid v1 over .282 East Asian CSL Limited version
I just received my Bold yesterday and I was a bit hesitant but I finally updated the OS from AT&T's 4.0.0.167 and everything went smoothly. However after installation, in my Downloads folder, I now have a bunch of new icons, all named browser and consist of things like Wikipedia and weather. Then theres an Icon on my homescreen also named Browser which is Media Mall 2.0. All of those are links to the downloads and aren't yet installed. The BBM 5.0 looks nice, but nothing has changed about the BB web browser, it looks identical and nothing has changed about speed nor are there tabs.
hey BBold,
those icons you are seeing are just launchers for web sites that your carrier is partnered with. If you don't want them you can delete or hide them. BB menu button and it will give you those options.
Your hybrid unfortunetly doesn't have any files from the newest 5.0.0.140 leak. It is .140 that offers the tab browser.
You build is made of mostly 5.0.0.100 files which is a much more stable build. The browser is a little faster but does look them same as always.
If you follow this path it will show you which files came from which os.
options > advance options > applications > bb menu button > modules - have a look through the list and you should see plenty of 5.0 files!
I hope that answers all you r questions but give you device a day or 2 to settle in and it'll speed up for you.
Enjoy![]()
