Bold v1.0 link doesn't start a download. On another computer (not logged in) goes to a 404.

I have to go to work now, so i'll work on this late tonight. Looks lie a god job - I will be moving down from 5.0.0.100 to this. I guess I'm used to some of the 5.0 stuff, and will be happy to have sound back on my mp3s

Nice to be here - 1st post

I've tried installing both the Rodgers and Vodaphone UK version of .282...

I'm on an AT&T Bold and I did delete the vendor file.

but my App Loader doesn't recognize that the .282 OS is there...

I tried going into the App Loader through the Desktop Manager and again, it doesn't see the OS upgrade.

So, I thought to click Browse and surf to the shared/loader/... file where .282 is, highlight all the .alx files to see if they'll load .282 and I get the message "no additional applications that were designed for your device were found."

    Any help?

Welcome to bbos, you might want to do an advanced search looking into hidden folders to see if there is any vendor.axl file and also make sure to remove any other os installed on your pc

Thank you. It appears that I did have about three other instances of various 4.6.0.XXX OS's installed. I didn't realize it actually installed it on the PC... I thought it just expanded the files and whatever was in the "loader" folder was was was set to save over to your phone. I was wrong. :-) I was able to uninstall the other OS's through my PC's control panel/remove programs and it seems like the Hybrid is installing now.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Installed easily and works great. However, did you remove access to CERTIFICATES and anyway I can remove VVM as it's taking up valuable space??

Is it okay to install the Hybrid over the .282 East Asian files? Your link on the first post to the Roger Wireless page did not have the East Asian version. I needed the East Asian fonts on my Bold so I downloaded the .282 East Asian CSL Limited version and installed the Hybrid as per your instruction. Now I'm waiting to push it to my device and hopefully it will work out...

Never mind, tried it and it worked!

Some glitches at the beginning with Facebook and Browser not working, but nothing a service book resend couldn't fix. It's done!

Sorry if this is a noob question, but my Bold is arriving tomorrow from AT&T. To get the Hybrid OS, all I have to do is follow the steps or is there anything extra I have to do?

You don't have to use these versions of the original os but you will need to download a fresh copy of the with your language support.

Welcome to BBOS. All you have to do is follow the steps laid out in the hybrid posts. In short, wipe the device, download the official OS and install it, then download the hybrid OS and install it.

No if you follow the instructions on the OP you'll be laughing.

You will still need to download a fresh copy of .282 to your PC as a starting point. It doesn't matter what os is on a brand new phone it has to be on the PC if your gonna alter it.

Putting a little premium fuel in your device right off the bat :fing02:

You could download everything and have it ready to install before your device arrives.

Thanks for the welcome sunkast. Alright so it'll work with AT&T Bold that isn't unlocked? And I download the .282 onto my computer, then I download the hybrid onto my computer using the steps in this thread. Do I have to do the removing of vendor.xml and the Loader on the .282, or only on the hybrid? And also, after it's installed on my computer, how does it get onto my Bold? Sorry bout the extra questions I just want to make sure I don't mess up my BB as soon as I get it. Never had a BB before, I'm switching from the 1st gen iPhone.

Yes you still need to delete the vendor file and please reboot your pc.

Plug your device into the PC and then follow the path to your apploader and click on the little phone icon. That will load it onto your device.

Once the device has fully rebooted unplug it and do your 3 battery pulls and enjoy!

    Try this link: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...C068A355BBA31A

It's from the different carrier so make sure you remove the vendor.xml file from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader.

One final post, is the EastAsia software download ok on my NA AT&T Bold, and after I get .282 on my computer and start the Loader, do I install it on my Bold or do I just keep it there and only install the Hybrid onto the Bold
And smcoldbb said I'm going to have to reboot, at what times?

Yes it is okay. What you should do is install the official OS onto your computer first. Then install the hybrid OS onto your computer. After that run loader.
