lol im new to the site not bb.. hehehehe thank you.. ill do the os upgrade tomorrow.. i was just curious and a woos at that making changes to my luvly device.. im such a bb no ballz on doing whats new... always took precautions dunno y.. but ill have to guive this a ride tomorrow.. thx that was an awesome explanation

and i also have to ask.. is there any way to get greek on the 8330 as a chosen device.. i would really luv to have that and have failed every time i have tried and or asked any 1 how to

I am not sure about Greek I will have to ask the creator of the hybrid if that is included. I will get back to you once I hear back from him.

i looked thru the files and it isnot that i saw at least.. thats where the question came to me... thx again

Sure but Lyric is a master he may be able to add that for you. Will ask him.

UPDATE - well it loaded all the way but my messages were deleted oh well my memos and everything else saved im cool with that.. thx for your help.. and i cont mind some 1 callin me dumb as a joke but if i ever feel i was spoken to in a dimeaning manner i wont hesitate... but im usually good wit that stuff.. good times gr8 site.. really glad i stumbled on this site

Glad to hear you got it up and running J let us know how it performs if you would.

I've been running this for about 4 days. It actually seems a little more hesitant than it used to. Like when I hit space bar to get it to light up it takes like a half second instead of immediatly like with the original OS. The reception seems the same, which is good. I never have reception issues with this phone. It's on Alltel. Battery seems about the same, too, which I have no complaints about. Memory is usually arounf 49 which is sweet, but I have never had any isses with that on this phone either. I basically just tried the hybrid for the heck of it. Huge difference on the Storm, not so much of a difference on the 8330. The phone is also about the same speed when navigating. Browser is WAY faster, though..

so far today i havent noticed much diff on the phone nor the browser.. ill keep updating if i find any changes,.. im gonna also try my mms where last time that was a huge issue.. but so far nothing lagging beyond the normal on the phone

So far so good, I haven't noticed any real difference to the version I was running before (version .131).

i have a vzw 8330, do i use 8330 or 8330x hybrid?

i believe vzw is the 8330...check your device by the esn (or box if you have it) and use the 8330 files...

I've updated the OS several times and most recently I removed the vendor.xml and upgraded to 160. All that was good but I don't know how to get the desktop manager to prompt me to install this hybrid. I copied the files over the the 131 directory (and deleted the old 160) but it doesn't think there is a new OS to install.

Are there some instructions implied or missing? I followed everything above and don't know how to force the upgrade. thx.
