Thread: Willyboy 9530/9550 v1.4 .610/.623/.643

This is a hybrid for the Blackberry Storm 1/2 9530/9550 Devices. I recommend uninstalling any other OS’s off of your computer and running CCleaner (including registry cleaner) to ensure a clean install. Please back up all your data before proceeding.

-Depending on what device you have you should install the following BASE OS:
9530: 5.0.0.591
9550: 5.0.0.607

-Run Willyboy 9530/9550 v1.4.exe to install the hybrid over the base.
-"Exit" the installer, Shrink-A-OS will pop up. Shrink out all languages you do not need to save space. DO NOT shrink out default fonts and themes.
-If you choose to wipe, now would be the time to do it.
-Launch loader from SAOS. If core applications are missing from loader selection, try launching from BBSAK or BBMCP.

This is a .610/.623/.643 build.

-East Asian Languages are supported, along with some others.
-Apps that you have the option of installing also: AppWorld, Google Maps 4.0, UberTwitter
-Includes all standard blackberry games
-BBM Group Chat keyboard bug is present for 9550 users
-Third party will reset, but not scheduled, only manual

The only storm files in this build are the necessary touch screen cods! Everything else is from the Bold 9000, Pearl 91xx, or Bold 9650! I have been getting GREAT battery life on this hybrid

It is important to keep in mind that the first couple reboots will take a lot longer than normal. Also, battery life will not be good until the device settles which usually takes 24-48 hours.

Help Screen and About screen will read as App Version 5.0.0.643. You can also view the .623 and .643 modules through the application modules screen, or do a system read in BBSAK.

ok, installed fine, booting now..

I am running your hybrid. All are good except the battery, drainage is 5.2 %/hr. Waiting for settles as you mentioned above.

Many people have installed this hybrid and praised the battery life. They seemed satisfied with the discharge. If you still have high discharge after it settles let me know

For the second day, the average drainage is ~ 3%/hr. waiting for next day!!!

I've tried 2 other hybrids over 591 and had a problem with mlbatbat and some kind of java issue when in espn. are you aware of this problem and does it exist on your hybrid? thanks in advance

I can't remember if mine had that issue or not, but I cannot test anymore at the moment as I have my newest v2 loaded on my Storm now.... I will be sure to test it with this new hybrid on it though.

v2 will likely go public later this week.
