Thread: Willyboy 9000 v4 .610/.612/.623

This is a hybrid for the Bold 9000 device. I recommend uninstalling any other OS’s off of your computer and running CCleaner (including registry cleaner) to ensure a clean install. Please back up all your data before proceeding.

-This is meant to install over the LEAKED 5.0.0.610 base OS. Install this first.
-Run Willyboy 9000 v4.exe to install the hybrid over the base.
-"Exit" the installer, Shrink-A-OS will pop up. Shrink out all languages you do not need to save space. DO NOT shrink out default fonts and themes.
-If you choose to wipe, now would be the time to do it.
-Launch loader from SAOS. If core applications are missing from loader selection, try launching from BBSAK or BBMCP.

This is a .610/.612/.623 build.

-East Asian Language support is included
-Dcom Downloads launcher was included for fast access to great downloads!

Since the memory leak seemed to be resolved in v3.1, I wanted to keep it that way in this one. I included a lot of the Pearl .623 files because I wanted to try and improve battery life while maintaining the fast OS speeds and good memory management. It is important to keep in mind that the first couple reboots will take a lot longer than normal. Also, battery life will not be good until the device settles which usually takes 24-48 hours.

Help Screen (alt+shift+h) will read as App Version 5.0.0.623 while the About screen will as 5.0.0.612.

I installed this hybrid yesterday.
So far so good... Seems to be slightly better than v3.1 after a couple of reboots.

But the BlackBerry Maps icon is missing
Any patch or solution?

i have fixed the map problem i had the same problem that the bb maps did not show so i started playing around if the .COD file soo here is the patch

How to install:
If you haven't install WILLYBOY v4 just copy and replace the files thats i have uploaded to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9000M_v5.0.0.610_P5.2.0.57\Java and then do ur install

If you allready have intalled WILLYBOY v4 then use BBSK hit on Install CODS locate the file that i have uploaded highlight all the cods that u download and hit OPEN wait for the reboot and the icon will appeared

Installed and running very fast. Memory seems to be better than 3.1. Battery is good. Browser is fast and everything runs smoothly.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!

Thank you all for your patience. I was away this weekend as some of you have previously mentioned. Please see the links below for all of your patching needs.

-This patch will fix the inability to connect to ATT hotspot's and also fix the spellcheck bug: v4 Patch 1

The only bug I did not address was the Wifi reading {0} in Manage connections (consistent when using other languages). This is because the wifi is still fully functional and it would be a very time consuming patch to create. I vow that this will be fixed in v4.1. You can also expect all of these other minor bugs to be gone in the next release.

Thank you all for your kind words, support, and continued references. I appreciate all of the nice things you say about my hybrids and am glad you have such confidence running them. I used to make hybrids for only personal use, but then I thought why not share the wealth, everybody should have a BB that runs to it's full potential! I am truly glad you all are enjoying this ride as much as I am.
