Thread: Willyboy 9000 v2.1 .566/.571/.591

This is a hybrid for the Bold 9000 device. I recommend uninstalling any other OS’s off of your computer and running CCleaner (including registry cleaner) to ensure a clean install. Please back up all your data before proceeding.

-This is meant to install over the leaked 5.0.0.554 base OS.
-Run Willyboy 9000 v2.1.exe to install the hybrid over the base.
-"Exit" the installer, Shrink-A-OS will pop up. Shrink out all languages you do not need to save space. DO NOT shrink out ringtones, wallpapers, or themes.
-If you choose to wipe, now would be the time to do it.
-Launch loader from SAOS. If core applications are missing from loader selection, try launching from BBSAK or BBMCP.

This is a .554 radio and .566/.571/.591 build.

-East Asian Language Support resources are included
-New leaked BBM 5.0.0.66 included
-New App World included
-FAST boot times
-NO SMS/Messages error
-NO trackball issues in app switcher, etc.

Help Screen (alt+shift+h) and About both read 5.0.0.591

What a lightning fast!!! I just finished V.2 this morning. Your V2 is a great solid one and running fine, but I'll try this new one. Thanks Lord of Bold Firmware...

Umm... may I ask how to install the east asian? it doesn't show up on app loader and I have un-ticked it on SAOS....

Edit : okay... I think it's not supported.. because I've tried installing the OS without SAOS, and the east asian didn't appear at all...

Edit 2 : I replaced the CJK file from others and it showed up on AppLoader... but still I can't write Chinese... Think there's something wrong with the CJK.alx ?

I apologize for the media errors. Oversight on my part! If you have not installed the OS yet, I updated the link in the OP so the hybrid download has the updated files. If you already installed the hybrid on your phone, please download this patch and install via BBSAK to fix the issues.

Hi willyboy this great work. I did not find in glitches with media error, but still install the fix. Keep up man you have build a wonderful hybrid.:hail:

ouch... I just realized I can't play the media... and my BBSAK somehow is not working anymore... It can't read system nor install COD & JAD........ hmpf... guess I'll be sticking out without music in my BB :17:

I had the same issues with BBSAK not loading the cods, so I ended up just copying them into the Java folder and re-installing. That did the trick, also I think Willyboy updated the .exe to include the missing files. In either case though it'll be a reload.

You can try installing one .cod after another.

The download link should be working fine?

Regarding the media fix, I'm not sure why BBSAK would not load these cods in.... worked fine for me? You can always try loading them through a different application (like BBMCP) and seeing if that works. You should also be able to utilize app loader to load the changed cods without re-loading your whole device.

You would be correct in stating that the OP exe link is updated with the fix.

I just found out about the media stuff this morning when I checked my musics lol. good thing there's a fix already thanks!

Okay...

Here is my review :

1. The memory is great and kinda stable... why I wrote kinda, because I use facebook and twitter, which means those 2 will drink up your memory slowly... With this hybrid, I start up at 28MB (don't worry I installed too many programs, and tbh it's great to have a start there with all my apps), but down to 22 MB when I start opening FB and let it idle for 10 mins... and stabilize there for 2-3 days and start drawning again to 10 MB (I don't know how to explain this phenomenon LoL)

2. The battery life is so great. It's about 1,5x from your last hybrid I use (v1.4 if i'm not mistaken)

3. The browser speed, splendid... Fast... woosh...

So recommended hybrid like every hybrids Willyboy has made =)

just hit "yes" since the system reads this hybrid as a "downgrade" because it is comprised of different files/cods from various OS [not all 554]...

just "downgrade" it and let us know how it goes for u... :amish:
