I am installing .114 as we speak...and am going to look into this ;)

You are only installing it to get the Hebrew cod files, right?
I know it works with .114. I want to have .148 and still have Hebrew input support.
From everything I've read in my searches on this problem, it appears that RIM only develops the Hebrew keyboard for a carrier if it is specifically asked to do so. I don't know what carrier the .114 (leaked?)OS was intended for but it does not appear to be one that VZW ever evaluated. It's been mentioned that WZW never requested the Hebrew input and claims it's RIM's option....so lots of finger pointing here. I suppose waiting for the .148 multilanguage download to become available will be another option to look at but I'm not holding out any hope that VZW has included the Hebrew input (keyboard).
Well I KNOW from other BB models that verizon does not include Hebrew, but we used to be able to install the cod files, which doesn't work in our case - the Storm.
Who else is gonna release a multilanguage OS? Verizon is the only carrier with the 9530.
Actually, Telus, Bell and others offer the 9530 and have released official versions of updated operating software (.122 in the case of Telus and Bell). I don't know whether Hebrew support was included by those carriers. But you are correct that only VZW will be releasing the .148 multilanguage package for download (one of these days) and it remains to be seen if they included the Hebrew input support...I seriously doubt they have..
I checked version 122 when it was released. Hebrew was not included.
In fact, I installed EVERY OS that was released to date!
Fiddler,
Do you have any idea who .114 was being developed for? Sounds like you're up against a brick wall on this one. The lack of Hebrew input support has been noted by many others in multiple BB communities and I haven't seen anything posted that resolved the problem.
So where's the Hebrew input code in .114???? Is it in some other .cod that doesn't look obvious? I know you've searched but the code has got to be there somewhere if you got it to work using .114. My guess is it's mixed in with one of the other languages or could be just about anywhere...yikes, it's a nightmare! Pure Mishugas! I hope you are able to find it...you'll be helping a ton of BB Storm users if you do!
I did find the vendor file, but it only had 1 line:
<vendorsrc version="0.0.0.0" />
For now I went back to .114 hybrid 3. I hope to find a better solution.
A month has passed, and I'm still rocking/rotting 4.7.0.114 Hybrid 3.
Did anybody come up with a solution?

here's what you do to find the files needed from any os that support the language you desire;
run apploader
when the list pools click on the language you want and just below the window click on details
in that window there are three tabs click on the middle one - sorry i'm not at my PC so I dont' have the correct name of the tab.
it will show you all the files within the java folder needed to produce the language.
If these 5.0 files will work on the hybrids or .151 that would be fantastic! It supports alot of different languages
hi there
but i dont have a clue on how to do it
can enyone with much more experience then i have will give it a try ?
I'll give it a try tonight or tomorrow.
if you want I'll walk you through it
you will need .140 loaded first grab those files I indicated put them in a folder on your pc
delete .140
load .151 or hybrid of your choice
copy and paste the .140 files into the java folder of .151 click yes to overwrite.
run it through apploader and you should be good!
Like I said if you want to try I'll help you through it
lets see if i got you
i had 5.0.0.140 installed on my pc
i copyed the files you indicated to a folder on my pc and uninstall 5.0.0.140
then i'll have to install 151 on the pc ( i'm at the moment with 148) and go to the java folder and paste this 13 file and click yes to overwrite them ?
and how i run it through apploader ?
sorry for the delay..
sounds right. keep those 13 files in a safe place if this works you can apply them to any os you want.
***I HAVE TO WARN YOU AGAIN THIS MIGHT BRICK YOUR DEVICE - IF IT'S NOT COMPATIBLE*** WE CAN UNBRICK IT
now that you have the files
remove .140 and .148 from your pc
download .151
backup data/applications
here's your path for apploader
c: program files > common files > research in motion > apploader - delete vendor code and restart pc
no go back into
c: program files > common files > research in motion > shared > loader > .151 file > java copy and paste the .140 language files yes to overwrite
back out to -
c: program files > common files > research in motion > apploader - with your device plugged in click on and run apploader ( the little phone icon)
make sure that hebrew is in the list and put a check mark on it
click continue and wait for your device to reload before unplugging.
do your battery pulls and let us know how it works
