I was able to install the arabic files using just the app launcher.
Browse directory-> select file-> install method
I'm using lyricidals 141/5.0 hybrid by the way.
The only issue that I have is I'm unable to switch input languages back and forth. I started using english, switched to Arabic and I'm unable to switch it back. Any suggestions?
And I was right! Big red didn't include Heberw in the new OS!
Fellow members, this is an urgent call: can anybody find a way to load the Hebrew files to 4.7.0.148? Please!
First of all, if I copy all the Java files from - say - .114, I will technically have 114 installed on my Blackberry. Doing a selective copy doesn't work; nobody could figure out yet which Java files are needed for Hebrew support.
And besides, 148 isn't available yet for manual download and installation, so I don't have WHERE to copy the Jave files.
Been there, done that.
I tried that, and I also tried to use javaloader to load the files to the blackberry, but it didn't help.
Here is a list of the files I used from 114:

You think I'm missing something?
Yes I did that, the first day that 132, 141 and 148 leaked, respectively. And I know it works with other languages, but not with Hebrew. And I also know that this method works with all other blackberry models, but so far I didn't succeed with the Storm. Man I tried so many different things, look back in this thread. I posted in most of the blackberry forums sites but I couldn't get it to work.
And yes, 114 was the only release that had Hebrew support included.
Ok, well, let me install .114 to my PC and see if I can help you figure it out![]()
Thanks a lot!
Just to warn you, seeing "Hebrew" in the list of applications isn't enough. You have to actually istall it and see if the hebrew keyboard works. See this post: http://www.blackberryos.com/forums/9...html#post34784
I may be incorrect, but I thought that Lyricidal incorporated Hebrew language options into his later builds of Build-A-Hybrid. Have you attempted to resolve this using that utility? BlackBerry Apps/Hybrids by lyricidal
Correction: he TRIED to incorporate Hebrew support. It didn't work.
Ah...okay...I saw Hebrew, Russian and Arabic in his latest version....sorry that doesn't work. It's really hard for me to comprehend that VZW/RIM would not include Hebrew language support in the latest version. But then again, they've done even more ridiculous things in this update that are also incomprhensible.
EDIT: Confirmed - it only partially installs the Hebrew langauage support. I used Build a Hybrid and used .148 as the base...left everything unchanged but added, Russian, Hebrew and Arabic. There is no Hebrew keyboard( ie. no input) showing up on the device but there is Hebrew screen (ability to read) support. It's weird!
So, I've done a ton of searches and find this is a widespread issue and while there are solutions for getting hebrew input onto most Blackberry devices, there's no love for the storm. Since you did in fact once have it on .114, I'm wondering if you thought about trying a hybrid of .148 with the .114 radio? Since using the .114 .cods didn't do the trick, I'm thinking maybe they put something in the radio file...but I'm really grasping for straws on this one. (It's 99% grasping and 1% logic) Sorry I have nothing difinitive to offer...

Yes I tried that too. I tried all possible combinations.
Please give me a wall to bang my head on... :1244:
Oh I was looking for that banging head, I couldn't find it...
I'm not interested in sending sms in Hebrew. I only want it for emails and forums on the web. It worked great with 114.
