OOAKDPC 95X0 497 Hybrid

This is still a work in progress, please keep that in mind. These are all the files I've been able to make work so far.

I have decided not to make the installer

this is the entire 497 java folder,
5 484 files (1 to make the 497 work, the rest to make it work for the storm1)

with bbm 5.0.0.57, app world, facebook, docs to go etc...


It is only the java, apps, and tools folders

Installation:

Install your base:

9530 users: 419+

9500 users: 451+

9520 users: 436+

9550 users: 428+

delete the java folder in the base OS from your pc
(You can find the OS folders in X:/Program files/common files/research in motion/shared/loader files/your os)

install the hybrid (with the installer version you have to choose the os folder to install to)

Shows .497 in the Help>About Screen

:::OOAKDPC 548 Patch:::

I have made a zip files of 509/530/545/548 files that will work when added to the bottom of this hybrid.

Download the files here:

After implementing the hybrid java folder into your os install, add these files to the java folder before you load it up. You'll know it worked if you look in your help->about screen and it read .509

153 - .548 files
35 - .545 files
2 - .530 files
7 - .509 files

so far so good.
very fast pictures load instantly in photos app, screen click is smooth. boot time under 2 minutes for me.
honestly nothing new everything just "faster"

How is the battery? The .484v2's battery seems to drain so fast.

Going on 24 hours with this hybrid and I must say...thank you OOAKDPC. After doing about 5 battery pulls, I have found the bb to be extremely responsive and quick with switching apps. The memory is stable, I've lost maybe 3mb since the last memory pull and now sit at 31.4 mb with 13 apps and 3 themes. Have not noticed any difference in browser speed but I'm not expecting any until RIM releases a new browser.

Will probably give this hybrid a try this weekend when I get some time.

Thanks OOAKDPC again for another great hyrbrid. No issues very stable good battery life I'm happy!!!!

Going to try this one. Been on other for a while but battery issues are making me go on the hunt.

Ok, been a couple of days now and heres what I'm finding...

Battery life is better than I have seen in all past hybrids
Memory is not only stable but again, better than any other hybrid
All media is extremely fast, from pictures loading to movies playing
Boot time is around 2 and a half minutes...up from over 5 with the last os I had
Keyboard is very responsive. Had to reduce the sensitivity
All apps working perfectly with no slow downs, no dimming with the backlight
VAD working just fine
Very happy with bluetooth connections. Much better than previous builds

One drawback that I have found however is the volume button when watching movies or playing music. Does not want to increase/decrease volume when pressed. Have to keep at it for abit to get the volume up or down.

Thanks JoshJamie for your feedback. I might give this a try when I get in tonight then. The only thing kinda holding me back is the twitter beta I'm running. Guess I'll just run the leaked one when an update is available.

I've noticed that I no longer have options for lock when holstered.

hi if i have 451 already installed with seanrens v6.1.. when i instal;l your hybrid.. do i need to wipe the phone again? or can io just copy the jave files over and load os via bbsak?

just curious is there a way to install this using a mac.. or windows is the onluy way to go?
