Over .442
This hybrid was made by dubie76 and it includes:
- Full .451 Java
- Updated: App World, BBM, Docs2Go, Facebook
- BBHybrids Launcher (Optional)
- Shrink-A-OS (Optional, but recommended)
- BBSAK (Optional, excellent tool)
- BlackBerry Master Control Program (Optional, another excellent tool)
- Multi-language Support

Instructions:
1. Install 5.0.0.442 to PC
2. Install this over 5.0.0.442 folder
2a. Shrink your OS if you want
3. Install to phone

has anyone tried this out yet? curious...

im currently on over .423, 442 was abit buggy and sluggish... decided to go backwards to 423.
so far only when in lift, no network 7 stories up, it will show sos signal... to get back on 3g takes awhile too.

Well decided what the heck I really liked 423 and didn't like 442 so much so loaded up this hybrid and secided to take it for a spin.

So far (only have had it loaded for 2 hours) but bluetooth works well as well As GPS. Sound quality during calls is good and have had strong solid 3g signal with it. Browser loads pretty fast.

If anyone cares I'll check in later to give battery and other stats.

ok.. battery life so far isnt real good. On .423 I could go 17hours and still have 65 to 70% of battery left. On this version 80% left with only 5 and half hours of use with the same amount of usage.

Over all its quick and snappy and havent ran into any issues with bluetooth, wifi or signal connections.

Reboot seems to be pretty quick. no uncaught exceptions with any apps and trust me I have about 24 loaded so you would think if there was compatibility issues I would see it.

Loaded the hybrid yesterday afternoon and so far my only problem is that Docs to Go didn't install correctly and I can't find the BBM icon avywhere.

I will try reinstalling these and see if that fixes it.

Updates anyone?

What we 9700 users obviously need is, at least, another leak.

Yes, a reinstall fix this problem. So far its been very stable - no random reboots yet. BES activation speedy. Media access fast.

I've been running this hybrid for a week and I think its great except for the battery life. It seems to vary greatly from good to horrible.

My work days are pretty consistant in BB use. Some days I end with 40% and some days 10%. Same apps set and same amount of usage.

Battery seems to use more the longer this OS runs. Pull the battery and start over seems to make life better again.

Ok, I'm having trying to download this, but I continuously get, this link appears to be broken. Does anyone have a different link to get the 442 hybrid files? Thanks!

great job,running very good.

I was bored yesterday so I installed AT&T's stock .405 and ran it for most of the day. While it's battery life was a little better than this hybrid, .405's laggy responsiveness when scrolling and selecting items was noticeable. Also, picture thumbnail viewing is much slower in .405 than .442/.451

This is the most stable hybrid I've used. Great job!!

Should I do .423/.451 or .442/.451 and why?

For me, comparing to .405 I find that the browser speed is awesome, bootup speed is pretty much the same, or a little bit quicker, battery life is shorter, down from 1.5 day to 1 day batt life, I use data intensive app such as twitter, beejive, and Berry Weather, and I browse often, then the bug that irritates me is that voicenote recorder doesn't work, it works once, but after a reset it is showing errors, couldn't find a specific file, I tried reinstalling but it is the same. so I downloaded vr+ lite for a quick remedy, memory is ok, no leaks or anything, normal drain.

but overall quite satisfied with the speed, but not about batt life and voice note recorder

I load .451 over .423 the night I wrote that, and it works wonders.

I have never run a hybrid before and this rocks! VERY SMOOTH!
