    9530 Lyricidal's Hybrid .436 - Anyone try this yet?

Has anyone tried Lyricidal's hybrid that was posted on bbhybrids.net on 1/1/2010. Curious to know how this one works or if it is any different than the previous one. I couldn't load any of the java files other than .419 with the previous hybrid on Verizon 9530.

I've heard that Lyrics and OOAKDPCs should be comparable to some extent, and that both should be performing great...

I've been running this since yesterday and so far, so good.
There doesn't seem to be much difference between this one and his last one, which I ran with the 428 java. Since you could only download the 419 java, I think I would recommend this to you.
I'll let it settle and see how it goes.
I've had a memory leak with both but i do believe it is theme related.

loaded on Saturday I believe. Had a couple errors that battery pull took care of. had to delete meterberry and reinstall to get past error I was receiving with that. Aside from those couple issues, everything is fine with this build. I haven't noticed much in the way of improved performance. If there is anything, it is so minute from the 419/428 build that I can't tell.

I have been running this hybrid it for a couple of days...very solid and fast. There have had a few times where my speed dial has not worked, but otherwise it has been great. As we have seen...every OS runs a little differently on every Storm.

The speed dial numbers don't work. After power up the SD numbers work normally. The next time the only keys that work are the 3 and 9. 3 dials the 5 speed dial number and 9 dials voice mail. This also happened on the 428 hybrid. Is this a function of the 419 radio file? Does anyone know of a fix?

    @nerr
I had that same result with the straight .419 OS on a 9530.
I put it on a Co-workers device and I thought it was good to go.
Next thing I know he's paging me to fix it. Like you said, the number 3 speed dial would pull up number 5 and after you get the speed dial function to work properly once the next instance would not work at all.
After a few reloads I punted and reloaded .328

I did not have this issue on the straight .419...speed dial worked fine. I always shrink and I wonder if that may be the issue.

Well I been running this for awhile and it is my favorite hybrid thus far. Fast. Stable. Jus 1 issue the dimming problem from .328 seems to be bak. Dat aside this is 95% perfect.

I decided to bite the bullet and give this a try and I've been running it for almost a full day now. I agree, thus far the best hybrid yet! I'm having the same issue as you regarding the dimming and I have a memory leak, but I think that might have something to do with Berry Weather 2.0 or my theme.

Just took the plunge and no problem with loading. Booted with same memory. Doing my 3 battery pulls now and will post findings later.

I just bought my Storm a couple of days ago and I am wanting to upgrade to a hybrid os! I am running 5.0.0.328( Platform 4.2.0.128). Would I be able to load a hybrid directly over this or would I have to use a base first? I am wanting to run the Lyricidal's Hybrid .436!

It's my understanding with any hybrid, that you first have to install the base OS on your PC, then either replace or copy over the new hybrid files acc. to the how-to from the respective hybrid creator. In case of lyricidal I think it is 'copy over'...

Breiti, you are correct. You have to install the base OS (in this case 5.0.0.419) on your PC, then intall the 5.0.0.419/436 hybrid over the base OS. Once that is complete you must also remove the vendor.xml file from the base OS as well before installing this hybrid on your device.

I have been running this hybrid on my wifes 9530 since Jan 2 and IMHO, this is the best one so far for the 9530. No problems at all after 22 days! Memory leak averages .4mb or less on a daily basis. Battery loss with normal daily use is around 1.4% per hour.
