The best way to do it is to wipe device first. That will give you a clean install.

Please be careful, if your are referring to the 451 leak, this is for the 9500 only, so if you are fully going for it, you should not use/replace the CDMA folder, since it would force the wrong radio file onto your berry. If you have a 5.x OS on your PC, you can just copy the leaked JAVA over it and use the loader. For your own safety do me a favour and just perform a device backup with DM and a 3rd party backup with BBSAK prior to this exercise (just in case something goes wrong).

If you are 'just' going for the 428, please refer to the comments of my colleague

ummm yah that might be too late :s its in the process of installing right now.. However i didn't trouble the CDMA folder so i'm hoping i should be fine... app wise there is nothing on there that i need or cant reinstall.. i've got my bbm contacts backed up thats probably the most important thing.. provided something does go wrong please be available for some assistance in getting me back up and running.. i'm assuming i can remove all OS's from my machine then download and install the .320 and start from scratch?

my bad i'm installing the .428 leak.. not the 451 leak.. so i shouldn't have a problem..

Sure, sorry, I didn't want to confuse you. If you are going for 428 then everything should be fine the way you are just doing it! I potentially misinterpreted the post while having just a quick view, apologies!

Okay quick question.. i did the reinstall everything is working fine so far.. how would i go about doing a completely clean install.. i don't want any of my old apps installed just the core files that need to be installed and maybe my contacts.. i'll do manual reinstalls of everything else.. I'm using a 9550 from telus its unlocked and i'm using it on Fido so i can't afford to do anything that may cause the phone to be locked (though i doubt that'll happen)

Best way is to do a backup in Desktop Manager then wipe phone with bbsak. clear computer of all operating system files. Download .428,delete vendor file and install. Then restore backup from Desktop Manager.
