I "Always" wipe before I load. I tried several ways, not shrinking, straight 428, w/436..I just don't know what the issue is. It seems like its an issue w/sms tones. I think the call tones may be ok but I dont recall. I read about how everyone is boasting about how great your Hybrid is (Am sure it is) but I, unfortunately cannot enjoy it. have you tried the assigned sms ringtone for your contacts to see if they play correctly? My default sms tone always ring when I get a text from anyone.

Battery seems to be better. It started out draining fast but has been pretty decent since I got about half a battery. Typing lag, there is none so far. Memory is stable

Am tryin to figure out if am the only one w/this issue.I don't know if you use custom tones but if you do, have you experience your assigned sms contact tones not ringing? instead, the default tone rings ?

Finally installing this now...

Which means that a later version leak is imminent...

What am asking is ...Do you use the the custom sms feature? or another words, do you assign a special tone to contacts' sms tones and calls. I used the stock tones as well but the sms tone that I assign to my special contacts, does not ring..Even the call tones sometimes(If not all the time) does sound either. If you can Do me a huge favor and assign a special tone(for sms and calls) for a couple of your contacts and have them text or call you and see if the tone that you assign rings or if your "Default" tone rings instead. Please let me know how it all works out. If it works for you, great..if not, you'll then see and experience what am speaking off. It seems like no one can figure out why this is happening. Aside from that issue, 428/436 is FLAWLESS..Its just too bad I CANNOT enjoy it like everyone else Thanks for your assistance.

I don't know if its an app I have installed or the OS itself but I haven't had it happen before till this os/hybrid. When I do a battery pull or "device reboot" via quick launch I get the error "Application exception: net_rim_bb_phone_app(50) is not responding; process terminated". The phone works fine even after getting the error but I'm still curious what is happening and what could be causing it.

@FlashOp,
You could always try and boot the device up in safe mode.
When you do this none of the 3rd party apps will load to the device upon boot up then this might give you an indication.

I am new to OOAK's hybrids, I want to make sure I understand the directions for this, I have 428 loaded, I downloaded and installed his hybrid, deleted the vendor file. Do I now just use the app loader to install or do I need to remove any of the files from the 428. There just seems to be way more files (although most of them are tools) with his download. Thanks!

Hey...not sure if it matters, but per the instructions, once you loaded .428, you were supposed to go in and delete the java folder and then install the hybrid. Also, to your other question...yes, install it using the app loader.

If I remember it correctly:
Install 428 - then delete its java folder (and vendor.xml)
Install the hybrid, you will find additional folders here for the apps (if you use the unshrunk hybrid version) - if you want those (should be cod, jad, alx - files) copy them in the new java folder as well

Oops, I missed this step! This is why I asked before loading, I thought I needed to do delete the java, but I missed this somehow. I remember doing this on the earliest hybrids for 9530 last spring, I have been spoiled using BBC's until I got the S2 last week. Thanks for the assistance!

I have done installing your 436 hybrid well because i'm a fan of your hybrid since 9500
Unfortunately I have this problem that never solved using 320,428,436...The thing is my BBM always 'freeze' after every reboot/battery pull, and all the groups and contacts icon i have managed in home screen is dissappear. In few minutes the contacts icon starting to appear, and the BBM is clickable but I get empty contacts (0 contacs and 0 groups)..After few minutes again, suddenly all the contacts and recent chats would appear...
anybody experience the same thing?Please sharing...
And also I often got net_rim_bb_phone(44) error process terminated.
sigh...is it because Im running on GSM RUIM Card instead of CDMA which is the native of 9550?

I got this error also but went on anyway and after about the 4th or 5th battery pull (I actually reboot using Meterberry) it stopped showing up. I have a lot of apps ... I'm not about to list them all lol.

Interesting that this error has show up. I have yet to experience it but I will keep a look out for it and post with any findings.

This has gotta be a 3rd party app that is not compatible. I had this same message when I switched over from 4.7 to 5.0 and had meterberry that was not compatible with 5.0

One of the 3rd party apps are either not compatible or corrupted....

I would delete them one by one and then do battery pull ....and when you boot up without the error message...there is yer culprit !! :firedevil:

and then just reload the others...but make sure your permissions are all set to allow.
