The key ghosting feature on this os is way cooler than the previous one. It gives you the letter or number in a white balloon above the key you are pressing. Rather easy to see this go around. Whomever is responsible at RIM for this deserves a bit of congratulations for doing it right.

I've been running the 419 w/ 428 Java for a couple days now and it is the best OS so far for my phone. In addition to the pop-up keys, which are really nice, it has fixed the problem I was having with voice dialing on my bluetooth on every prior 5.0 OS - straight or hybrid. I have not yet experienced anything that does not work. Thanks, Lyric!!!

I just installed .428 over the new release of .419 last night so I only have about 8 hrs of play time. Everything seems really good, fast, smooth. I like it. I was running Crackmans v10 before but this feels like its a bit smoother. Ive always run crackmans hybrids but this time I thought Id live on the edge and try something else.
I think the big three, Crackman, Lyricidal and OOak, got it going.
    Thanks for the hard work.

OOPPs I did find one thing. I have one video file that only plays audio. The rest of them play video. I can live with that. But if there is a fix out there???

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I install the hybrid using .428, shrink it, and the loader says there are no upgrades for my device...

    Try without shrinking it.

IDK, I shrunk the bejeebus out of it and it runs really nice. Perhaps it is what was removed and not how much?
But I do agree, try again without shrinking, then if it works, try a shrinker....
    Did you remove "vendor.xml"
Did you try to load through DM? That prob won't work
Did you wipe your device and start clean?

Alright its early and I need help, I dont know what the hell I'm doing wrong this time. I loaded .419 and then I loaded .428. When .428 is loading it asks for a destination do I browse to the .419 loader file highlight it and load on top of it? I assume I do however after .428 completes loading and I shrink it it says you have 86.4 before shrink and after shrink and I am removing just about everything it still is saying that I have 86.4 after shrink. I have never had more than 45 after shrink. What am I doing wrong this time? HELP, please!

    PROBLEM SOLVED, Merry Christmas!!!

User error. I realized that I didn't have a 9530 OS installed before I installed the hybrid. Installed .328 then re-installed the hybrid, shrunk the crap out of it and it loaded fine. I was doubtful at first: EA took the better part of an hour and the OS was not smooth for the first day. After a few quickpulls though it's great. Lots more free memory now. Thanks for the hybrid!

Have had the hybrid for 24 hours and for the most part it seems ok. I loaded and shrank over .419. Memory holding at 37.5 with quite a few apps and 2 themes!

I'm assuming you've figured this out, but just in case...I've done this before too. When running through the installer you will come to an option that will state:

"The system applications that are currently installed on the device are newer than those available with this version of the Blackberry Desktop Software."

It automatically defaults to the 1st option which states:

"Leave the system applications on the device unchanged (Recommended)"

The second option, which is what you want to choose states:

"Replace the device's applications with the older version provided by the Blackberry Desktop Software."

I did this half a dozen times one day and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't update my phone. It was then I realized I needed to check the 2nd option.

    Thumbs up

Merry Christmas everyone. I took the plunge this morning and loaded .428 over the MTS .419 and all is well. It's my first time using a Hybrid by Lyricidal but I figured what the heck. It's built by another Canuck so it has to be good.
First impressions are good. Browser is definitely faster and the radio seems stronger than before from my present location. Gained about 4MB of memory and will monitor ove the next few days. Thanks Lyricidal from one Cnauckto another.:yo:

Seems to have stabilized. Standing steady at 37.5 memory and radio is good not as great as others have reported.

    Video camera record volume

I just installed the .428 Hybrid yesterday to try. Everything seems to working well so far. The one thing that I and some other posters have noted is that with the Official .328 upgrade, the playback volume of a video recorded with the video camera is not very loud. This still seems to be a problem with this Hybrid. The volume has to be turned up all the way to even hear a faint sound of a recording. Does anyone know of a fix for this? Thanks

I must say Lyricidal is a hybrid master. The 428 hybrid rocks. And besides all the stuff people have mentioned already, has anyone noticed how much louder the speaker is? I listen to Pandora a lot in the shower through the phones speaker and its definitely way louder than it used to be.

Thanks but this wasn't was happening to me. It just wasn't recognizing the hybrid as being there since I didn't have a real 9530 OS installed on the PC. Didn't allow any actions (upgrade, downgrade, sidegrade) I thought it would see the hybrid as an OS all alone but it didn't. After I installed .328 then re-installed the hybrid it worked like normal.
