Oh well. Still having memory leaks. Losing about 20 megs a day. I thought it might be Facebook or AP News, so I left both out of my BBC install, but no joy. I think my phone may just be grumpy with 328. I guess I should go check and see if it's worth hopping back to 323. Gotta check the bugs on that one. At least BBC starts me with over 40 instead of 30. Gives me more time before memory gets critical.

some memory leak id going to happen but no matter what os you have its going to happen. BBC v10 is def a lot better with the mem issue but understand that its more likely a theme you have loaded or an app. Many apps cause memory leaks. Some are immediate, some are over a period of time. Its just like with a PC and a MAC, the amount of free RAM fluctuates even if the system is idle. System memory, user memory, processes memory, it all fluctuated and is all shared on a PC and MAC. We can day the same with a phone. phone makers didn't reinvent the wheel when it came down to basic memory allocation. Try a fresh install by wiping your phone using bbsak then shrink ps then install leaving all 3rd party apps off, include bbm of you want, then keep track of memory and memory leaks, or what I call usuage. The problem with the storm in my opinion isn't memory leaks but the inconsistency with memory recovery which varies with each OS. bbc doesn't have a magic .cod file that will "poof" fix this issue. I understand your point but this is just my experience. because i know that it doesnt work at my work place (sun valley) and it does when i get home. same issue when i went to san diego, chula vista area. I have tried all of the 5.0 OS's. the only OS 5.0 that I have found is that does work is the 5.0.0.140. anything above that i see the issue. Again, just my experience. dont get me wrong everything else works, sms, mms, bbm, internet, constant EDGE.

I'm not suggesting that there is a magic file that will solve the problem, and I think that BBC does an outstanding job. My point was simply in a case by case comparison to the last few 5.0 OSes I've used, 328-based ones(BBC and plain ol' 328) have introduced serious leakage on my phone. It's not a normal fluctuation when I dropped down to less than 2 megs in a day and a half. It's never happened before, anyways. I'm not saying you couldn't still be correct; that it is still some weird third-party app or theme. I just don't think it's too likely when the change is this dramatic and the only major change was the OS upgrade.
On an entirely separate level, memory management in certainly similar in PC/phone environments, but neither is it precisely the same. My PC power cycles as a matter of course each night while my phone does so only when I do a battery pull. Also, my PC works in gigabytes of RAM, so dinky little apps can have dinky little leaks without it being either apparent or significant. On a phone with only tens of megs of memory, even a small leak can be significant. Phone makers didn't reinvent the wheel, but they most certainly reprioritized!

Seems I'm the only one but since I've put on the hybrid, my charger stops working. I plug it in and either 1 of 2 things happen:
-The sound chimes, the clock comes up for less than a second and then goes back to the menu screen, and it won't charge (the lightning icon at the top doesn't show, and I lost power when I checked back 30 minutes later thinking it was a graphical error)

-I get an error screen and it reboots itself

Edit: If I plug my BB into my computer the lightning icon shows up.
