    OS 5 to OS 6

I have an AT&T pearl 9100. The latest version is 5.0/ I can get 6.0 from another carrier but i am not sure if i can do that.
Originally when i got my pearl, i wiped it out with bbsak and installed 6.0. I realized that i had no personal email setup. Only enterprise.
Now when I put 5.0, i got the personal email setup but all my emails go into the same account.
So, is there a way to upgrade 5.0 to 6.0 and still keep the personal email setup?

    Thanks.

    Hi Pierrot,

Since you have an AT&T device, I would recommend going with another carrier's OS that is similar. Here is an OS 6 via Vodafone UK that you can try... VodafoneUK_9100_6.0.0.546 - Downloads - BlackBerryOS.com

It may be trial and error for you when it comes to this as different OS's produce different results. Always be sure to backup before installing a new OS.

Let us know how things work out for you!

Thanks JOe, I will try that and will post an update. I was going to try the latest version posted from austria. Glad I read your message before.

I always recommend using an OS that is from an English carrier if your carrier is using the English language. I hope it works out for you.

Thanks Joe. It looks like everything is working fine.
The only issue I may be having is that when i delete a program and i am asked to reboot, it will hang at the AT&T logo when it restarts. I have to pull the battery and put it back in to work.
From what you are telling me, I should stick with this build and not try to update the the latest build from Austria although it is multi language. Is that correct?

One last question, how do you completely turn off the BB? If i click on the shutdown icon, i do not think it completely turn it off. Because when i press the power button, it is back in the home screen in no time and i do not see the progress bar.
    Thanks for all your advice

You can always try the multi-language version. Maybe it will work better. Sometimes with these older OS's it takes some trial and error.

I forget how to shut down the 9100, it's been so long. Maybe try and hold down the power button for a few seconds?

Joe, I installed the latest release from Austria. I had backed up all the apps with BBSAK before.
Everything looks good but i have lost the ability to add personal emails. Only corporate. I think i can add emails using the bis AT&T web site.
Do you know if it is possible to re enable this option?
How hard would it be to revert to the previous build I had?

BTW, i have set the forum to send me an email when you reply and i am not getting it. I checked my junk mail too.

    Thanks.
    Pierre

never mind. i wiped out the phone. re installed os 5 from att. upgraded to vodaphone like you suggested. then restored my backup.
everything is working great. all my purchases register automatically. with the build from austria, i had to manually enter my key in beweather.
now that i have restored my app, they show as uninstalled in blackberry world.
can that be fixed or do i need to re install and overwrite them?
    thanks.
