Hello and sorry about your daughters' bad choice in a boyfriend. The phone should have just simply wiped itself and can now be set back up. Put the sim card in it and give it a reboot. If it doesn't provision itself, call your carrier. You might need to get them to help you input the the sim info. Good luck!

Have you checked the network settings (system settings>network and connections>mobile network) to make sure that it's "on"? And when you go to "About" in System Settings, what does it show under Network and Sim card?

Also, when you called Vodaphone, did they escalate it to BlackBerry? If not, call them again and have them call BlackBerry with you on the line.

I've never heard of a security wipe causing a BlackBerry to get blocked. A wipe after in-putting a wrong password too many times is the same as wiping it on purpose as far as I've ever known.

I wonder if you were to unlock the phone (by purchasing an unlock code), if that would free it up? I don't know, but for a few bucks it might be worth trying.
