    Z10 Network Mode Options

When I first bought my Z10, under System Settings / Network Connections / Mobile Network / Network Mode it gave options stated in terms of "G", i.e, 4G or 4G & 3G & 2G, or 4G & 3G etc". After installing one of the leaked OS's (I think 10.1.0.2342) these options changed to LTE/UTMS/GSM etc. Now suddenly they have changed back to 4G etc. What was nice about the LTE/UTMS/GSM options was that you could set the phone to GSM only so that the phone was restricted to 2G. There is no such option in the 4G 3G option version. You cannot turn off 3G, which is a big battery user. Setting it on GSM only (2G) used to give me a good few hours more battery life a day. Do you have any idea what caused these changes? Is it OS version related or is it a user setting somewhere?

I noticed this also but I still have the 2G option available to me, it seems strange that you don't

    I know what u mean...

1st ithink it is os based changed

2nd i would like to have any thinkable option and combination... like ONLY 4g as well which is in hotspot times not a bad feature to restrict in some 3g/4G change areas to 4g only...

I SIMPLY DONT know WHY BlackBerry doesnt give this option like follows:

    2g
    2g+3g
    3g
    2g+3g+4g
    4g

if they like; could give 2g+4g also, but...

    and they would be done!

so in the end... you miss again 2g only... i m missing 4g only since day one...

4g only: the only thing i could see as a reason is the phone CALLS, maybe the simply doesnt work over 4g... but anyway 3 solutions still there:

    1 prefered 4g only
2 4g only (no phone call function, only data, eg for hotspot using as mentioned
3 4g only ( but just in call case it switches to 2g/3g) otherwise it would switch back to 4g only
