Thread: I'm hearing rumors of a 5.0.0.300 leak for the 9530

Rumors are starting to float around Twitterland about a possible leak of 5.0.0.300 OS
Anybody else heard of anything?

I don't think that is true at all. .230 was just 'leaked' and now all of a sudden there is a possible .300 leak? There's a lot of builds missing in between those two, if .300 is even legit.

That's a massive jump indeed. I will believe it when I see it

300 is a far stretch for me. I would think that if indeed we see another leak it would be more along the lines in the 240's or 250's. But thst of course is my opinion. I'm going with what my friend Olta says on this one.

while the build could be done by now, as .230 reads created sept. 8th, i highly doubt it be out to enough people in that small time frame for people to be willing to leak it

Same here there is no 300 build for storm, next leak might be the one jumping the app version to 5.x, that's why things like threaded sms is buggy on the storm but not on the devices running OS 5.0 with the apps ver 5.x

well keep in mind if it jump from 4.7.0.151 to 5.0.0.140 won't be rare jump from .230 to .300

The leaks jumped but not RIM builds. 4.7 exists up to 4.7.0.220 build, its just we didn't see it. That was the last one and then RIM went on to 5.0 builds.

I'm not so sure i'd be quick to say it couldn't happen (jumping 70 build numbers in a short period of time), however, that having been said; i'm going to go with a "wait and see" attitude on this one.

If I see a screenshot that looks at least semi-legit of 5.0.0.300; then i'll think "Hmmmm.... It COULD exist."

If I actually see something leak that I can install on my device, THEN I will be a believer.


EDIT: things like this are the reason i've always been a believer in the fact that we SHOULD be referring the the platform version and not the applications version when we refer to an OS. A platform jump of 70 builds seems incomprehensible, however to me, an applications version jump of 70 builds seems more reasonable.

Perhaps .300 apps or above are necessary for a 5.0.x.x platform

Oh, how I WISH someone would leak 4.7.0.220; I would LOVE to see how 5.0-like it is. I'd be willing to bet it's pretty close to some of the 5.0 builds.
