What is this phone supposed to be? It looks like a Tour. Am I wrong?

Looks like the Onyx to me... Maybe I'm just dumb and don't notice the differences in the form factor.

A Onyx this is not shape or form.

I didn't even notice the touchpad. Honestly not side by side I don't either really. Maybe it is somewhere in between. Isn't the trackball a thing of the past though. Aren't all phones from here on out going to have the optical track pad?

I believe he means the Onyx is not this shape or form.

idk how comfortable i would be with a trackpad instead of a trackball, but who knows... i thought i wouldnt like the trackball either but i love it

This doesn't even look different compared to the Tour besides the TP. But they're in the same series, so they have that form factor.

haha.....I agree with you, since they got rid of the scrolling ball and it has the touch pad.

You are correct and whoever saids this looks like a Onyx probably doesn't own one. IMH the essex does not look like the Onyx.

essex = tour + wifi and touch pad

i'm wondering if we could just swap the touch pad internal sensor board + touch pad from the 9700/essex and stick it in a tour. not sure if the entire OS would need to be different.. or just a matter of adding a .cod.. if anything at all.
