Android G1's Battery life is pathetic. iPhone's isn't much better. The Palm pre's wasnt all that bad but it was no where near a Blackberry's Battery life.
All of the above phones I just listed have super great browsers. I think my favorite was the Android browser. Pages were super easy to navigate and even with T-Mobiles sub par coverage the pages would still load really fast. A lot faster than the native BB's browser could ever load them. Still though, it seems using the browsers on these smartphones would just whoop the battery... even with wifi turned off.
I would love to see a great Blackberry Browser that uses webkit but not at the cost of my battery life. When I need to view a full webpage, I just open up Opera Mini (who btw needs f*ing copy and paste support). I'm sure RIM will look for a win win solution. They have been very good at that thus far.
Just FYI guys....look for an announcement very soon that will get most of you excited on this subject...
Can't wait scotsman.
