    playbook update OS 2.1.0 1753

Hi just downloading new update for playbook, did not think we would see any more a welcome surprise, mentioned flash player update various fixes etc, size almost 400MB, just glad the old playbook is still going well, nothing can replace it.

Even though I loaded the leaked version I still had 22 mb which turned out to be the shifty Facebook app which still doesn't show profile pictures. Unfortunately bridge isn't updated either. This update really is nothing to get excited about

Hi waynemack,, no Facebook app on my playbook, only BlackBerry standard utility apps no third party ones ever installed by updates on my playbook, no unwanted apps you can't remove, flash player update is useful, were there major fixes to the system?, as almost 400MB seems a large one, excited not really not after playbook update saga ,but the 10.2 on Z10 might bring improvements., might be excited by that or Z30.

Hey Merlin I installed the leaked update about 400mb and as you say no third party apps just a basic maintenance update then I had the official update show up 22mb so I updated and Facebook +twitter appeared on screen. I've left my Zed with 10.2.0.1047 as it's pretty stable and I need my phone to be reliable for work although 1725 has just dropped so I might experiment tonight. Az for the Z30 I think I'll wait a bit once it's launched and get it when the price drops I can't justify another launch day purchase to my wife haha

Hi Waynemack, how is your Z10 running 10.2.?, I am waiting for official update as Z10 is my daily driver and it must be reliable, is it worth the wait?, the latest playbook update is reliable and my keyboard use to drop off the screen at random As I tried to type. Now it stays in place, before I would be half way through Email and loose it, browser is fast as normal,
After the official update on playbook I only have BlackBerry apps at manufacture, no Facebook or twitter, if the Z30 arrives in my area I will snap one up as watching Dr Who on a bigger screen should be awesome,

Hey Merlin my Z10 is my daily driver too and I'm not experiencing any issues too warrant me returning to the official 10.1 in fact I used to leave my network on 2g only to ensure my battery lasted the whole day (that's working day not 24hrs ) but on 10.2.0.1047 I can leave it on 2g /3g without any problem. The calendar was a big problem for me with the original 10.1 build as my company uses Gmail link calendar since switching to BYOD but 10.2 calendar is brilliant and works very well.

It depends what you mean by "way better". When I am travelling the playbook is perfect for e-mail, web browsing and reading on-line news. No it can't do a lot of other things, but the greater potential and flexibility of Android devices means a lot less security which is a big concern these days. I have a 10" Galaxy tab, but find I end up using the Playbook a lot more. If it could run Skype, Kindle and DropBox it would be perfect for what I need.
