Any new Q10 owners?
Hi any new Q10 owners yet?, looking forward to hearing about the Q10,
Is it better than Z10?, battery life and keyboard?, what makes it a good choice?,
Would like a phone with physical keyboard, am waiting to hear members views/opinions,
as price premium over Z10 is high in UK,
Hi Merlin, we'll be posting the official BlackBerryOS Q10 review tomorrow. Stay tuned...
Hi Joe thanks for your post, will be viewing,
I'm a proud owner of the Q10! It's still quite pricey outright in Canada. For the 9900 I paid $549, the Q10 was purchased for $650 with tax it came to $790.
The Q10 is a nice solid and sturdy built phone. It has this unexpected weight to it that some users from the Legacy side may like. Being a user of touch only phones for the past 2 months I felt the difference immediately especially using an iPhone 5. With a 2100mAh battery I think this should have been built in as there is only a 0.2mm difference in depth from the 9900. The height is welcomed now that there isn't a trackpad and hard keys which I don't miss at all.
The swipe gestures are extremely easy to get a hold of despite that some say a learning curve is required. It's just a matter of doing it repeatedly (I was a Z10 owner as well).
The OS is like a shrunken Z10 experience. Smaller screen means selecting words or clicking on links will surely annoy some. I continuously have this fret where I scroll upwards in apps only to bring the actually app into the Active Frame stance and then accidentally pressing the X to close it as I try to balance the device in one hand.
In regards to typing with one hand, that's more of a Z10 experience than a Q10 experience. Keys are still stiff from its newness.
I hope this helps to some decision making.
Hi Digitalhomeboy, congratulations, good to here you have Q10, price here in UK. Sim free/ unlocked. Is $863/910, and one retailer throws in
A playbook 64 GB in free, how is battery life?, thanks for a helpful review,
Hey Merlin, that's ridiculously expensive. I'm not a PlayBook fan so I don't see it as a welcoming gift if that. The battery is crazy excellent. I fine tuned my settings such as backlight timer, wifi usages, placing it in sleep mode after using it, all of this plays its part. Since yesterday afternoon my battery is at 53% with minimal usage today compared to yesterday. If you don't use many apps then this is a great device. If you do use a lot of apps look towards iPhone. I never recommend Android in handsets dur to the fragmentation. Sure you can side load, but I still think that shouldn't be necessary especially after this rebirth.
Hi Digitalhomeboy, battery life sounds very good, not an app fan, text/E mail heavy user, and a few calls,8 Q10 might be worth a look,
yes expensive and playbook offer to sell Q10, thats the UK, many retailers try it on, will have to wait awhile then price will drop,
it happened with Z10 at first now price same as other makes flagship phones, thank you for your reply.
With that price your pretty much purchasing the PlayBook as well.

Am hearing that Q10 is selling very well, because of keyboard, BlackBerry should have had Q10 out first, is it correct that US has to wait end of may?, should have been global release,
Got the review posted for anyone who is interested... http://www.blackberryos.com/blackber...10-review.html
Merlin, yes it is true that the Q is supposedly coming out in late May according to reports. If it had come out at the same time as the Z, or close even, I most likely would have bought a Q instead of the Z. My thoughts now that I've used and become "friendly" with my Z is that it is most likely the better device. With the exception of the bigger battery, of course. All navigation, or at least a lot of of navigation, being done via gestures and touch seems to me that the larger screen would be a better experience. Having seen the list of shortcuts for the Q is further evidence that the keyboard is less important than it used to be. Now if the trackpad was still being used we would have a whole different beast. Just my opinion, of course. I do hope that all of the new Q owners enjoy their devices.
Hi Joe, nice review Q10 looks good, the un boxing video a good presentation showing each item clearly, and informed the viewer about the contents of box,
it makes a difference if the presenter has knowledge of the phone, a lot of un boxing videos on you tube are painful to watch,
the Q10 box is i assume is special reviewers one, just a thought Blackberry are missing a sales opportunity, they should make the Z10/Q10 available with the useful extras
as shown, release the reviewers box, yes it would be more expensive, Nokia did that some years ago with one phone a limited edition, sold quickly hard to get one at the time,
how limited? see how sales go and release small numbers as required keep it exclusive?, i would buy one now.
