    Reboot time

Hi folks, I'm new to this forum, so hope to be on here quite a bit from now on, as I'm a confirmed BB addict, and good to be with like minded folk. My question is however, does anyone have any idea on reboot time of BB10? On average it takes my Torch 9800 around a good 7 to 10 mins from battery pull, to becoming fully operational again.

    Hi Gordy, welcome to BBOS!

The 7 - 10 minutes seems a bit long. Do you have the lastest OS installed on your 9800?

Also, BB10 will boot faster. Although, we don't know yet exactly what that boot time will be. When I spoke to the QNX team at BlackBerry World, they were talking about how BB10 will be able to boot super fast due to the micro kernel system that it runs on. We'll keep you posted as soon as we know more.

Thanks for the warm welcome Joe, I have 2949 as my latest update on my OS, so I'm assuming that's pretty up to date, I suspect it could be something to do with the ammount of apps I have on here, but as for the BB10 Reboot time that sounds pretty awsome, I'm looking forward to the release, however I'm gonna hang on until late in 2013 in case of glitches and new releases of software etc, also would be good if they release another slider (best of both worlds) but then again the costs involved might be impractical etc, but non the less I will be looking foward to reading about peoples experiences and pitfalls, so as best to avoid them when I decide to upgrade.

From the latest news and rumors BB10 boot time is approximately 1 min.
The 7-10 mins boot time on your 9800 is ridiculous.

I know my old 9800, and 9810 did take longer to reboot, however nothing near 7-10 mins, more on the side of 2-3 minutes. My 9900 is quick with just over a minute. BB10 is all a guess with boot time, but to be honest I could care less about a boot time. I would rather have to not restart the phone often, similar to the PlayBook, which I only need to reboot, probably once a month which is damn good. I know other friends who only reboot the PlayBook when an OS update happens, so that's my expectation for BB10.
    It's a BlackBerry World.

The more apps that you have loaded on a BlackBerry, the longer it will take to boot.

This is because each app is analysed at boot time as a security feature. So, you must have loads of apps
