    Subscription

    My blackberry subscription has refused to expire for more than 2 months now. I have been delaying upgrading my OS because I want to keep enjoying the free service. Did this happen because of a flaw in the OS? Or is it from my provider or RIM? Will my free subscription stop if I upgrade my OS?

    Not data. All plans by my provider are unlimited. A BIS plan lasts 30 days, the weekly plan lasts 7 days. All funtions on my blackberry still work almost 3 months since they was supposed to expire. I haven't paid for BIS getting to three months now.

    I'd say that the answer would be no, because if you upgrade you would be in fact adjusting how much you will need to pay, or, your carrier will be reviewing your current info. It's a risk that is up to you to take.

    On a second thought. It looks like you are just going to upgrade your OS. In that case I don't think it would matter what your OS is in how it affects the billing of your account. However, don't take my word as fact here. If something does happen, it's at your own risk.

    I have been giving some serious thought here, reading all responses.

    So, let me get this correct, you are somehow experiencing BIS for up to 3 months at no cost from whomever the carrier is, and I can understand why you wouldn't post it here.

    Would an OS upgrade affect the current situation you are currently enjoying?

    There may be in fact a risk of losing your free BIS service if you upgrade your BlackBerry device, regardless if it's an upgrade via (DM) Desktop Manager, or a complete wipe, using any third party software, such as BBH-Tool, or BBSAK.

    Why would you take a chance to upgrade the OS, knowing that you're receiving BIS at no cost, do you really want to take a chance and find out when the free ride is over?

    Personally, even though it shouldn't matter if upgrading the OS for your BlackBerry device, which begs another question.

    What BlackBerry device are you currently using by the way?

    It's difficult to post correct information here when you haven't posted what device you're using, and what official OS7.0.0.xxx/7.1.0.xxx I can offer you as of current.

    Ultimately, it's up to you how you what direction you wish to take, but as Joe mentioned above, it's at your own risk.

    We can only suggest, and guide you here the best we can, sometimes with very little info from our members and guests.

    @Joe jerde...I posted the name of my network briefly on both ur walls, sorry for being paranoid.

    @grimreaper...you got the picture correctly.
    I use a 9300..OS 6.0.706. Want to revert to 666 or upgrade to 723 cos I am having battery issues. Can you also give me a link to a good hybrid for my device.

    A plan called the "Complete plan" was introduced by all networks in my country last year at a reduced cost $10/month. It offers only one email with support for all other functions except "Blackberry Protect" that is what I use. Don't know if it exists in any other country. Carriers in my country do not offer OS'es or phones with their logo on it. We all download.

    I'm guessing I shd hold on till the freebie stops.
