Ie 8300, 8310, 8320 are GSM and 8330 is CDMA

I dont fully understand this new hspa system coming on line but I'm under they impression that the current 9500 and 9530 storms are compatible and with the news of the iphone being launched on telus I highly doubt apple is making a "cdma" version.
So why are their 2 types of tour and storm2?
