Do you have a REAL Blackberry?

Bought your Blackberry online? Perhaps from E-bay? Are you sure you have a Blackberry that came from RIM? If you bought it off line you may want to find out. Even though I'm sure none of these 'knock off berries' have made their way to the United States but you never know.

According to BerryReview Blackberries are being assembled in Vietnam. A VietnamNET reported followed a technician who assembled a Blackberry 8320 with only $110.00 in parts. They look authentic except for a few minor case flaws. According to VietnamNET
, they say Blackberries are becoming more and more popular in Vietnam. Many, if not all, look past the functions/capabilities of a Blackberry and look more at the "who uses a Blackberry" aspect. Since known stars such as Paris Hilton and our very own President sports a Blackberry, apparently everyone in Vietnam now wants a Blackberry. They sell these 'fake' Blackberries for about $180.00 - $225.00. So as I said, if you buy a Blackberry off e-bay, you may want to check to make sure its a 'legit' Blackberry.

    thats crazy...lol
but I would think it would be pretty easy to tell...
atleast for someone that have had previous "legit" blackberry experience...the "feel" would be much different

you wanto to see them standing on store's tables? come and see in my island, Batam. we here have hundreds of them sold. average 50 BBs sold everyday. price is about 163 USD for 8310, 183 USD for 8320. but i can assure you it can not be used for BIS for long.
some of my customers came to me weeks after they bought it, complaining why suddenly the BIS is off on their handsets. found out that either the PIN and IMEI is not a legit format. but, out of the buyer's ignorance, what is RIM going to do about the new buyer of the BB? the ones who really want to use the service? they do not really know about stuff like this.

That's sad. People need to be encouraged to buy bbs from legit places. Less chance for scam that way.
