Thread: Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam confirms Storm2 and Tour

Verizon CEO Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam said at the Barclays Capital conference this morning that we should be seeing the Storm2 and Tour within the next six months. He also mentioned the Palm Pre in this quote.

“Over the next six months or so,” he said, “you will see devices like the Palm Pre and the Cousin on our network from Palm. You will see a second-generation [BlackBerry] Storm. You will see a new device we call the Tour from BlackBerry as well. That is an upscale of any other QWERTY-based devices that we have from BlackBerry today.”

i hope they have a deal for current storm owners, though it wouldn't make a difference. I'm a gadget whore so i'll get it anyway and complain as i buy it.

That's a nice open ended statement "up to six months" but knowing vzw I woudn't be surpised.

Isnt there some rumor about big red gettong a 4g iphone in early 2010. What no mention of that? Sneaky..... Iwant a new Berry so bad I will probably snatch up the next one released on Verizon.

Apple is releasing the (s) on June 19th but.... don't hold your breath about MMS feature cause it won't be available til end of July or August. We the BB people got community, Apple don't got :censored:

I just think that it's funny how some people go nuts for that p.o.s. and to top it off it's on the worst network that I have ever cancelled!

I feel he didn't say anything new or what we didn't know. It's been "before the end of year" since the rumors started....so I take it with grain of salt, knowing vzw..

My question is...... "If" VZW does get the deal with Apple, how many of us would leave BB?? I personally have to say, I am a mac user but... I have played with the iphone when employed with AT&T and wasn't too impressed, my gf has it also and it looks like they never changed it's looks...

Sorry I would never leave Blackberry I was just taking a stab at Apple. Just get sick of these rumors. We know that there will always be 'new' phones coming out. It just gets a little crazy for the berry-nuts sometimes. I shall alsways be a faithfull addict!.

Honestly, this is my opinion: Blackberries are a powerhouse!!! They can do a lot and that's what makes them awesome. At the same time I cannot deny two things: 1. The storm is the worst of the bunch in quality and 2. Apple did do an outstanding job with the quality and design of their device! It's appealing to the eyes of people and a lot of features that BB has, regular people don't use, so there always be rival and competition between the two.
