If the RIM CEO's can play us a video....

If the RIM CEO's can play us a video.... why the hell can't we play back video's in Java and such for loads of other things?

I like to see the football on the BBC Sport website in the UK, but cannot play back the video there, but Lazaridis can put up a video apologising for the outage.

I get what you mean but the two formats you are comparing are very differently interpreted by our BlackBerry smartphones. Lazaridis' video was uploaded on youtube and the videos on BBC's website, for example utilize Flash instead.

When we go to see Lazaridis' video on youtube through our BBs browser, youtube reads that we are mobile and will send out a compatible version of the video for us to watch. Sometimes, the video is not compatible and we'll get a "Not available on mobile" message when we go to that youtube page instead.

I imagine football videos on the BBC Sports website are run purely on Flash which our phones currently do not support. The BlackBerry PlayBook on the other hand would be able to handle playback of those videos because of the Flash video support it has.

    Hope that explains the difference.

    Yep, cheers for that.

    Shame though isn't it?

I'm pretty confident that the QNX device will be flash compatible.

It only makes sense. We know it works on the PlayBook.
