    JVM Error 517

    Hello everyone, so one of my clients just brought me his bb 9530 with an JVM Error 517 message on the screen. I first tried to connect the phone through c>program files>common files>RIM>apploader but it doesnt work. I also tried wiping the phone using JL Cmdr but it also doesnt work. Any ideas on how I can help him out???

    try through the application loader on the regular DM. I've had to do that a couple times.

    To correct this, follow the steps outlined below from RIM:

    1. If not already installed, download BlackBerry Device Software and BlackBerry Desktop Manager from the wireless service provider web site.

    2. Install BlackBerry Desktop Manager and then install the BlackBerry Device Software.

    3. Use Application Loader to reload the software on the BlackBerry device.

    When I plug in the phone and open DM its like if there is no BB connected I dont get a PIN or anything

    Battery Pull while connected, pin should appear in drop down box.

    Restart your PC and also reboot phone, then attempt again.

    thanks for everyones response. OK so I manage for the app loader wizard to recognized the device...I am in the app loader wizard on the Updating Your Device screen, but it does not pass the first step which is Connect to the device...any one know why?? or what I can do to solve this

    Is it just stuck or is it giving you an error message? If it's just stuck...just leave it alone for a while.
