Verizon CEO Lowell Mc Adam spoke at the Reuters Global Technology Summit. One of the topics addressed was Big Red's jump to LTE and during the conversations, the executive made it known that RIM is one of the manufacturers working on a LTE handset for Verizon. While BlackBerry has not been known in the past as a brand that has been quick to adopt to new standards, it looks like the pinstriped crowd will get the opportunity to send/receive data at fast speeds and still get to remain a BlackBerry user. Other handset makers expected to have phones ready for Verizon's LTE launch are Motorola, HTC and LG

Thanks for the response. I have no particular requirement to have a BB but I do need to sync Outlook desktop with the cell phone and a Android phone just doesn't have a reliable way of syncing. So I am going to stick with BB until another alternative comes by.

If you hear any specifics on BB LTE plans I would appreciate further postings.

I think there are no rumors on this LTE. The first LTE blackberry I would not expect to see before 2012 simply because the LTE networks will not be covering a sizable portion of the population until at least then and maybe later..

There are now rumors that the Bold Touch will be LTE and will be available end of the summer

I believe that latest rumor is saying this fall.

I thought it was only HSPA+, and the other model was CDMA/GSM.

Then again, I was a bit confused when reading that. And I believe RIM stated that no LTE in plans for 2011 because its new and comes with limited coverage.
