Rumor has it the Atlas will be release along side the Tour. Essentially the same device only the Tour will not have WiFi and the Atlas will have WiFi. Now for some additional news, apparently all BlackBerry's released on VZW after the release of the Tour and the Atlas will have WiFi. Now, if this is true, its about time VZW.

I'm puzzled by the "supposed" announcement of this Atlas device. Why would RIM release two side-by-side BB's around the same time frame. They've never done this before. Don't get me wrong now . . . LOL. I'll I'm glad to see anything new. It's just that this seems rather odd.
I'm wondering of maybe BGR's source got the Atlas code name from the upcoming Storm II (which has not been designated with a formal name). There are rumors out there that RIM may be trying to launch the Storm II as early as Sept. This may well be the Atlas launch perhaps? I just don't know but we'll soon all find out huh? :)
Should launch one or two weeks after the Tour drops.
