I dont know if i should take this as a bad or good thing, i kinda grew on the the SurePress, i'd prolly miss it![]()
That's retarded then might as well go out and get an iPhone. At least they don't have software issues galore and have web browsing and multimedia that is unbeatable. It was the sure press technology that sold me on the device. If RIM went in this direction I would really be disappointed.
Thanks for the post though good find.
They prolly lost wayyyy too much money replacing everyones storm 53 times and got sick of it
Agree with BBOS team. I like the sure press screen. I had an iPhone and hated the touch interface.
UPDATE:
Verizon Storm 2, Until 4/29 went to "INCREDIBLE"
Verizon Tour (Wife's)
OS: 9550--5.0.0.607/643 (OOAK w/all the fixes)
OS: 9630--5.0.0.643
I hope that we see openGL and see better multitouch

This doesn't shock me though. I remember reading like a month ago that RIM stole some big tech guy from Apple, to clear up some issues with the phone. So I guess shoulda seen this coming.:boobies:
Wirelessly posted
I don't think they would drop it. I read a few reviews that RIM won some awards for this screen. It is what sets it apart from the IPhone.
Personally I like it. I could be better ie flick scrolling but not likely.
If those pic's are legit it looks to me like the click screen we have now.

Its funny, the sure press is the only thing I can't complain about for the storm, I love the tactile feel of that screen and is time really that big of an issue. Sure initially it was tough to get used to but now its like second nature. I guess instead of fixing memory leaks, or memory issues or ummm let me see memory leaks, just glue the screen down and call it the storm 2. That's not fair of me. Here I am speculating that RIM is not going to fix the real stuff that's broken.
u know your rht i remember reading the same thing. if this apple/berry guy does what he does best we might have a good thing for us berry heads. im almost sure that rim will come up with an almost a semi bug free unit.
the BB movement.... yes sir.
Wouldn't upset me, and im sure VZW would love for it to be a PURE TOUCH concept seeing as it would be one less possible physical flaw for the phone (just look at all the returned 9530's).
Actually it would be a sick idea if they could some how physically allow the user (VIA some side switch or lock out) to lock the screens travel and add to the OS a feature that would turn off the Sure Touch concept and make it strictly touch only. So both worlds can enjoy the phone to there likings!

There are already prototypes developed by RIM and all are using what is called touch press. Basically think of it as an iPhone with push email. I cannot comment on haptic feedback as my source will cut my balls off, but what I can say is if you didn't like the feel of the iPhone you won't be getting the Storm 2.
Honestly I could live without Sure Touch/Press. Great concept, but just one more area of possible physical flaw. I think RIM see's what sells and puts a solid "touch" to it with there sleek style and performance (hoping that there OS flaws are finally behind them once it is released)!
