I had a Verizon tech support tell me that the Torch should be available soon through Verizon. I was surprised to hear that since the reps don't usuually know anything in advance. Has anyone heard any rumors about a Torch on Verizon in any time soon?

Not exactly, but I was talking to a rep today and said I was waiting for a new Storm to come out. He said there's a BlackBerry/Verizon announcement coming later this month that I will be pleased with. But who knows anything these days.........

I would be fine with a new storm if it ran OS 6
I'm curious what the QNX OS will do to the pricetag?

In all reality Amcat I don't think we'll see much of a jump. Even the playbook is rumored to be priced around the ipad. If they take the time and effort to bring something unique to the smartphone, i don't think RIM is going to kick themselves in the nuts by pricing it out of the average user's means. The carriers on the other hand....
Is the Torch a Global Device? I am pretty sure that it isn't but someone correct me if it is. RIM would have to make a CDMA version of the Torch if it was to go to Verizon. That is if it's not a global phone. I will take a Storm 2.5 series anyday. I love my touchscreen and will never have anything but. If RIM was to stop making the storm series then I would keep my S2 or whatever 95xx device I have until it breaks. Then I would purchase another 95xx series or move to Droid. I will never go back to a keyboard device. That's just me though.
I'm still on my 9530 S1 and have been eligible for an upgrade since late Aug. If a S3 w/QNX is due in Q1/Q2 next year, I think I might have to wait rather than blow my upgrade on a S2.5 just to get OS6. I dunno, but for now I limp along w/10MB free on my S1. Phone is good but a bit sluggish compared to the S2. The real questions are will the S3 have QNX as an OS and will it be 4G at launch? We know the S2.5 will be 3G, so that's the real question...
I see everyone is interested in QNX but I don't know what everyone is expecting to be in the first version of an OS that is worth waiting another 6 months?
