Gmail two-way sync now working for North American users?

Quite some time ago when we received detailed information on BIS 3.0 upgrades that RIM rolled out a few weeks ago, we were told that it would include two-way sync for our Gmail messages. Sadly, BIS 3.0 rolled out, and nobody saw this new feature we were supposed to have. Though in Europe, it was reportedly working for many BIS users. Those of us in North America were left wondering what the heck the deal was with two-way Gmail sync. Well, it looks like somebody had RIM finally threw the switch as many blogs and North American BIS users are reporting that Gmail two-way sync is now working. As a huge Gmail user, I hope this isn't just some fluke. Please let us know if two-way sync with Gmail is working for you.

I'm on Rogers BIS and my google sync is working :)

Forgive me for being lost, but what exactly does this mean? Lol. Can't you have any email account work on a BB? I use Yahoo and Hotmail and they work just fine. Was or is something missing? Help shed a little light for me?

Delete an email on one of those web clients. Does it remove it from your phone? That's what they are talking about with two way sync.

seems like verizon is syncing sent messages but not read/unread from gmail

Verizon user here. Not sure I am feeling the 2 way love. Seems to be working from device to inbox only? Will test more and post again.

Yes, yahoo has had 2 way sync for a long time. I had a gmail account and that acct actually forwards the mail to my yahoo account for just that reason. i read an email on my desktop and it shows as read on my BB. I delete an email on my BB and it's deleted on the desktop and visa versa.

plus, with my gmail (at the time) i was getting those annoying sent mails showing up as new mail. i'm pretty sure that's been fixed though.

Sent, read/unread status works 2way sync on my phone...i dont know when did this started but it sure works now.

I hope they bring more things to this...calendar and contacts sync (already in the google sync app at a understandable pace, but working) is coming for BIS 3.1, but what about notes and tasks? both exist on google, also documents from google apps...you should be able to ditch completely docs to go and use google docs to edit and open docs, presentation and worksheets...even pdfs.

Small business management console...this is something i would like to see integrated with google apps for domains.

i'm also on verizon and getting the same results. read/unread doesn't sync either way, and delete only works device to mailbox.

I still only have limited one way sync on Verizon.
Device Unread -> Web
Device Read -> Web
Device Archive -> Web
Device Label -> Web
Device Flag/Star -> Web

wow, you're lucky. none of the markings (unread, flag, star, label) work for me in either direction.
