Thread: Hotmail Requires password confirmation

I just got a "Do not Reply" message from RIM stating that MSN Hotmail,Live Messenger require revalidation of password?

"Must confirm your hotmail.com password on your Blackberry device by May 1 to continue sending or receiving email messages for this account"
To revalidate your account:
1. Click the Email settings
2. Go to Email Accounts
3. Edit the Email account
4. Type the password
5. Click Save

Is this a routine request for a Blackberry? (This is my first)

I know my user name but my normal password for e-mails is not being accepted. When I type forgot my password I get the reply "It has been succesfully sent to my Blackberry device" I don't have it in my e-mails?
Where would it be sent? I don't use BB Messenger on my Storm.

painlessone, this could be something with the Hotmail server. I had the same happen to me with my Comcast email. Turned out to be an outage on Comcast. There could have be a drop in the sever and when your bb checked for messages, it got and error. Thus the reply you received.

Thank You for the reply. The only thing was it said I had until May 1st to reply which didn't seem like an error message. If they shut me off, I will call Verizon I guess.
