Thread: BlackBerry Storm 3 first INSIDE peak?

So if it's in a Storm 2's shell, does this mean the screen is still going to be 4:3 aspect ratio for watching movies? I was so hoping for widescreen. I spent my entire adult life collecting widescreen movies, and now when I want to watch them on my phone, I lose two thirds of the screen to black bars. The only full screen movie I have is Anchorman, which isn't even my DVD. Sigh. Widscreen aspect ratio, that would be my wish.

The idea seems to be the keyboard and the Nokia N97 and it works pretty well. Since the storm 2 storm is just the wifi seems to actually put any effort forward in this version of the model.

This post is back from the dead...twice! Now the rumor is the Storm 3 will not release until Quarter 2 2011. No new BlackBerry for Christmas this year.

I'm still banking on the first quarter, just before or immediately after the playbook is released.

It's two birds with one stone if RIM goes this route. First, they destroy the :AR15firing:ipad and samsung whatever it is. Secondly, :AR15firing:apple has nothing new in the works, and I'm sure if they did, :AR15firing:Jobs would have leaked the story himself. That being the case, it's a perfect opportunity for RIM to really eat away at the :AR15firing:Iphone and Android sales with a new S3 running QNX.

Don't care when really, as when RIM does release the S3 with QNX, I'll have an almost brand new 9800 for sale!! Until then os6 is keeping me happy

Problem is, new new version of iPad will most likely release before the PlayBook does. That means the iPad will have essentially caught up to the PB in terms of features.

I see the PlayBook taking over the business market for tablets and nothing more. This isn't a bad thing, as the business market is huge.

I don't think the ipad will be close to the playbook. Not with the flash integration and rendering speed. What I find really unusual is how quiet Jobs has been as RIM features the playbook against the ipad. Hard to flap your gums when the proof is right there. Sure, at first, Jobs stated that RIM did something to the ipad. It was said very meekly, and was never repeated. I'm thinking Jobs saw first hand how inadequate the ipad is next to the playbook. And I doubt the new ipad will even come close to the pb. It's been too short of a timespan for Apple to even try to incorporate anything that will make it equal to the PB, or even come close. It may have more apps and or games, just fluff though when you look at the big picture.

With the few specs of the ipad 2 that have leaked the playbook still wins. Even apple fans know flash is not imaginary. It still exist and is really needed to have the full web experience. I'm getting kind of upset at Mike for not giving any solid information about the qnx devices on the smart phone end. I understand that Mike is doing promos for the Playboook but every interviewer is asking about when will this happen with BlackBerry phones. He is just not giving answers that we need to hear. Also I feel like RIM is working a bit backwards. RIM should have started working on new smart phones instead of an tablet 1st. I would think that people would buy more QNX phones than playbooks. Also RIM has been down on specs for a while and #TeamBlackBerry users have been patient waiting on the perfect RIM device. He should have corrected the smart phone problem first before developing a Playbook IMO. A year later with OS 5 and it's still bugs. I do have a feeling RIM will try to release a Storm 3 with OS 6. If that happens I do not see my self buying a storm 3. I will probably buy an iphone even though I'm not an apple fan.
