I have the Eris but still use my Storm 2 as my primary phone.

I made the switch and sold my Storm. Honestly, I loved my Storm but I'm in love with the MotoDroid. The ease with which the phone intergrates my Google services is a big plus. I did a factory reset on the Droid after having it for a day just for ****s and grins. When I re-entered my credentials afterwards the phone reinstalled all my contacts and all my apps. That alone made it a keeper.

Today is my 1 year upgrade availability date, I just dont know what to do? I like the Android platform not sure about Moto phone and hate the Eris....Might wait to see what else is coming!

I switched, and I have no regrets. As much as I liked my Storm, and my wife's S2, neither one of them compares to the Moto Droid. It really is that much better. I've also owned Blackberry Curves 8330, 8900, and a Tour 9630. The Blackberry platform is just really starting to show it's age.

Well, as you know I have moved to the Moto platform and it do keep a S2 around as well.
I thought about it, then went with the S2 since I had 30 days to take it back. Problem is, I like it too much to take it back. Droid may be a better way to go for some, but MY S2 rocks, at least for me. I've not had a single problem and it just works. I'm typing way faster than I ever have on a keyboard and I love the new screen. Most say it feels different, but I can't tell, feels the same but works every time. Maybe that's what's different. :-)
Anyway, for now, I'm still addicted to the Storm2, I've thought about getting some help, but for now I'm having way too much fun to stop.
After giving the Droid a pretty thorough run through I decided that it was kind of a let down. With so much hype I was expecting more. My Storm 2 does everything the Droid does, maybe not as flashy but it still does what I need it to. The browser on the Droid was very impressive, but I am hoping that the Webkit RIM is working on will bring us up to par.
i think if it had a "blackberry-ish" keyboard i mighta tried it.........but that keyboard just didnt feel right
I kept my Storm 1 and got my wife the Droid. She has never liked her Storm. She came from a Treo and just couldn't get used to the way the BB operated, and she couldn't get used to the touch screen typing. Of course the sub-par screen clicking on hers didn't help much either. She hasn't gotten the Droid yet as I just ordered it yesterday, so hopefully she'll like it and quit complaining to me about needing a better phone![]()
I upgraded to the Storm 2 and was very happy with it. Then I tried the Droid in the VZW store a week later. I was very impressed with the speed and functionality of the Droid. A few days later I thought about it long and hard and decided to make the switch. It was a really tough decision because I loved the S2, but in the end I made the right decision. The only thing I miss is BBM (I had an awesome BBM group) and the click screen. The Droid is so much faster and smoother, and I love the 5MP camera.
If the Storm 3 comes out next year with major performance improvements, especially with the speed and better browser they promised, then I will probably go back. But we'll see. I like to have the latest and greatest and if Moto or someone else puts out another phone that's light years beyond the S3, then maybe I wont go back... who knows!
I'll still be here onthough. Love the people here and love being the one to tell my friends with Blackberrys what's new.
Not now chief, I'm in the @#$%in' zone!
I am keeping my S2. I love it! I played with the Eris and Droid but didn't like it as much. My BB never lets me down. I run my own multi million dollar business using the S2 and it just works every time.

My wife's oldest son has a Droid, which I played with for a few minutes early in the week. Fast and responsive, but the slide out keyboard felt awkward to me. Now I have fairly large hands, so maybe that's why, but typing didn't feel right and I had to keep looking at the keyboard to try and type the correct letter. The Storm feels better in my hand than the droid, but that's more subjective than anything. It was a short hands on and I didn't try the on screen keyboard. Now the browser kicks the BB in the jewels though, its fast and is everything a browser should be and I'd like to have more time to go through the app store on it.
Now the battery life plain SUCKS! with a captial 'S'. After tweaking the settings, lowering the screen brightness, he can just about make it 24 hours on a charge. I need to find out just how much he uses the browser and web services, but I get 3 days on my Storm....with a weather app running and updating and a 'spam/telemarketing' blocker running that also updates several times a day. - Really haven't seen much a reason to switch from my Storm to either and I'm on At&t running EDGE. (400mbps, so not too shabby, but faster would be better....might just jump to Verizon for the 3G).
I switched with no regrets. Loving the Droid....
Droid arrived late yesterday....will activate this weekend and see how it goes...
The way I see it, I've got 30 days to decide if it will work for my business emails, calendar, etc.....if not then I'm on to something else....
I'm confident from an app, browser and widget standpoint there will be no comparison with the S1 or S2, but I have to be able to get my corporate emails and calendar synced.....if I'm not satisfied with it and/or no newer better device hits VZW before my 30 days is up then I'll probably go back to a Blackberry, just not a S1 or S2....
IMHO if I go back to BB, it will be strictly for business reasons....I don't see the S1 or S2 as a legitimate "media" device....
I have an Eris and I love it BUT still using a S2 and primary phone
Le0_Br4zUc4 - BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 Running 5.0.0.428
just jumped ship a couple hours ago. loving it so far! (except that i can't seem to figure out how to sync my bbos email to it.)
