I'm not having this problem. TCP settings are left blank on my phone. That's how I was told it should be on VZW network.

Yep you are correct I just remembered that if you change your Manage Connections settings/Mobile Network Options/Network Technology to GSM/UMTS then it will stick. VZW doesn't give you the option of saving the apn. That's for GSM devices or when your using a unlocked device like a Tour/Storm on a GSM network.

Yeah as far as I know Verizon doesn't use APN settings...I honestly think that the best solution for you would be to Backup with DM, 3rd party backup with BBSAK do a full wipe with BBSAK and fresh reinstall with the latest Tour Hybrid from Irtehun:

Make sure you uninstall every old Tour OS that you have installed on your computer before you install this Hybrid on your computer to load onto your BB, this Hybrid is .230 based with updated .273 files other than the radio, also inculdes some .238 and .296 files.

Sure? My phone had APN settings when I got it and for a while after. Also Vlingo and other such apps worked fine till all this started up.

I'll try a full wipe though and see what happens, will report back.

If you're on VZW you should clear the APN options and only check the top box on TCP. That's what I would try before wiping.look anywhere on the web and you'll see it should be blank.
