Thread: explorer in .230 os cant doawnload appworld or bbm.... help

hi everybody

i uptdated my 9530 storm to the .230 os this week, and appworld started to dissapear from the phone so i had to re install it but when i use the explorer download method it allways find an error that block me to dowonload the file, the same thing happens when i try to download the bbm 5.0.0.33( the download link just dont appear as in all the other devices)


.....the explororer only works as my wap browser, everytime that i open the program takes me to my carrier wap page.. evrerytime i open the browser the EDGE goes to edge but i can use the internet........i did a full reload of the OS but still with e same problem

Welcome to ! What error were you getting? Did you try a battery pull?

yeah ive tried baterry

when i open the browser to download the apps, appears to kind of problems, first the website tells me that an error has ocurred, or that the file is out of reach

the other one is tahta the link to the dowmnload dissapers an the webpage loads partially

What carrier are you on? Open the browser, hit menu, select browser configuration, on the first line do you have any option to choose from? If yes what option do you see?

are you saying that the blackberry web browser isn't on your phone?

i have a wap browser, i cant choose from the explorer settings between wap browser and web browser, and i think that could de problem that blocks me from downloading bb apps

Can you program your phone over the air?

No i cant...is that an option offered by the carrier?

With VZ you can dial *228 and select your desired programming options.
Not sure with Comcel, Comcel runs the GSM 850 frequency range,the radio 230 is very finnicky may not be compatable with your carrier. You may need to go back to your previous OS.

A phone that only has GSM 850 cannot work on a GSM 900 network, nor vice-versa. Comcel is strickly GSM, call you carrier and inquire about programming options, have you unlocked the sim card?

Have you tried re-registering your Host Routing Tables and Re-Sending your service books?

Yeah i have been sending them to me these days, and im sure that every time that you do a battery pull you register again with the hrt, if im wrong how could i pick the rigth one in order to re-register

No, they do not register with a battery pull. Go to "Options-Advanced Options-Host Routing Tables, Single Click on Host Routing Tables, press the BB menu key then click "Register Now"

To resend your service books go to your Setup folder, find the "Email Setup icon and click, when the next screen opens press the bb menu key, click on service books, then send service books.

In that menu appers several hrt numbers, one in hightlights do i have to register in all the hrt's

Press the bb menu key and click "register now"

I believe your issue will be connectivity with the Comcel network and the 230 radio file, just as it was with your previous version of 148.
