Thread: Trouble installing apps on v5.0.0.140

Ever since I loaded the leaked OS I have lost my Visual VoiceMail and BB App World will not work any longer even after trying to reinstall it. Does anyone have any ideas?

I tried downloading BB App from the BB site but it still doesnt work. The Visual VoiceMail, I have no clue about. It was already loaded on my phone when I got it from Verizon (9530-Storm)

Welcome to BlackberryOS. Could you please elaborate by what you mean when you say "it still doesn't work" and the problem you are having with VVM? Specifics and details would be very helpful in troubleshooting what's wrong.

From my experience and previous posts from other users about the apps not working with the leak any app that is associated with RIM are not working it appears that only 3rd party apps have been working

I have AppWorld on mine ok, but not using the VVM.

My reccomendation is since you do not have it installed on the device is to:

1.Connect phone to pc

2.Navigate to C:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader

3.Dbl click the loader application (looks like a phone)

4.Follow prompts to connect with phone

5.Scroll down to check the boxes to which programs you want to add or remove
(The apps you are looking for should be listed.)

6.Click next and wait for it to finish

Cool. Ok. Thanks for the welcome. When I originally loaded V5 on my Storm, My VVM had disappeared completely. It doesnt show in options/applications or in the DM. I have no idea where to try and get this app besides BB Apps to DL again and see if will even work
BB Apps had also disappeared. I went to the OTA site and downloaded it again to my phone. Upon trying to start the app I get "Error starting net_rim__bb_appworld: Class net.rim.device.internal.ui.Image not found"

If that doesn't work, do a 60 second battery pull.

If still no-go, you may have to start from the beginning...wipe and reload.

Whenever I go to options/security options and then select all data and third party apps...is that the most I can do?

I tried to follow your path and I thought I would ask you to clarify exactly what you are trying to accomplish. I followed Options>> Security Options>>but I'm trying to see how you select all data...Where did you find that option?

Ohh sorry. I meant options/security options/security wipe......I did the wipe and BP and even after that it is still showing BB App under applications but there is no icon anywhere to start the program.....and it still boots up with OS 5

Well Kind David, I'm kind of walking into the middle of your situation so from what I can gather I see that maybe you are trying to remove BB App world from your Device. The other query I see is that the 5.0 OS is installed on your device. Are you trying to replace it with another OS? Let me ask for a short synopsis of what you are wanting to do to your device and If you are famiiliar with using DM, CrackUtil, and Loader.exe.

Yes, Im familair with DM and Loader.exe but not CrackUtil. The low down is...whenever I loaded 5.0 I lost my Visual Voice Mail and BB App World did not work. I have tried everything to get BB Apps to work to no avail. I did a wipe and BP.Even after doing that BB apps was still listed in options/ applications but the Icon was nowhere to be found. I deleted it again from options/apps and did another BP. I need my VVM back but have no clue howto get it back on there w/o BB apps

Let's try this. If you go into the applications folder and then push your Menu(Blackberry)button, do you get an option to show all or the option hide with a check mark beside it?

No, everything is already showing. I did a wipe and then downloaded BB Apps again from www.blackberry.com/appworld/download from my phone browser. It downloaded and installed but I still get the same error message when trying to start the program....VVM still missing. I may be able to get that from verizonwireless.com though
